anyone use an electric impact when working on your car? I dont have a compressor and am wondering if it would be a good investment.
I wish I could get a compressor...

They work like a charm. Helped me out with plenty of things. Stubborn motor mount bolts, flywheel bolts, suspension bar bolts.

if you really dont need all the torque that they have, you can go to sears and pick up an adapter that will allow you to use sockets and such on any regular drill, and it only costs like $5
i love mine and i use it all the time....

I got an el cheapo brand called Nikolta from Kragen. $59.99. If you pricematch with Pep Boys ($49.99) I think they give you 5% of the difference or something. It's rated at up to 230 ft-lbs of torque but it's actually pretty weak. Wouldn't even take off a crankshaft bolt which is torqued way less than 230. It's not as heavy duty as I'd like it to be, but it's an excellent buy for the smaller stuff. Well worth the price. Just don't expect it to work miracles. But definitely, it takes away those oh so tedious jobs and makes it much quicker!
