Does anyone know of a vq37vhr mount kit for a 240sx. I got a full motor swap from a rear ended nismo edition 370z(thats right the 350hp version) and am looking for a suitable install kit, and maybe a link to a install guide. I can't seem to find anything.

People will bow to you if you pull that off.
Please have a good, solid chassis to start with.

if you could get your hands on the whole 370 put the ENTIRE 370 harness in it and you will need the 370 pedal because its electronic

I will definatly do everything I can to keep every feature. I have a mint black 96 zenki shell I bought to swap. I will defiantly post a sweet detailed build thread once it's in motion.

I would imagine that the VQ35 mount kit would be the same, but don't quote me on that.

I read some where they were different but most of the stuff on the net is speculation :-(

They are like 30 minutes from me. Id rather do it myself but I'm limited with aftermarket support so that may be the route I have to go. I know Martin and his guys do amazing work.

The starter location will interfere when using the normal VQ35 swap kits. The swap can be done... pretty similar to the VQ35 swap with the slight differences such as a "must keep" drive by wire setup, Starter interference, Wiring, etc.

have fun trying to fit the humungous timing solenoid against the fire wall....
but anything is possible with enough time and money

Looks like it's back to the junk yard to get the gas pedal with throttle cables and I'll have to do quite a bit of firewall bashing to clear the starter. I read somewhere there maybe interference with the steering as well. I might have zfever tackle the wiring. I emailed wiring specialties and they don't offer this service yet.

Bad news. They had the pedal but the throttle cables are cut

^haha...umm....yeah.
that picture is dope! Why don't you just have a fab shop put it all together/ Make the mounts, and then have a wiring dude do it...like mr jeffe jordan.

Glad I saw this thread. I'm sure I would have ditched the throttle pedal in my haste to regain space once I pick up my motor.

Because doing it yourself is more rewarding and costs a lot less.

You said the throttle wires were cut... that doesn't matter... get each end and you can use your own wire in between.. don't let that stop you. Nothing a little splicing soldering and heat shrinking can't fix

not to sound like i know everything... just trying to help u out! but u sound like u have no clue what so ever about what u are getting yourself into...i am actually finishing up my vq35hr build! http://zilvia.net/f/chat/397304-vq35hr-s13-build.html
i know u are doing the 37vhr but they are very similar and the starter is not even close to the firewall so u don't have to bash it in for that.... that big thing on the back of the engine, which will be in ur way is the VEL-assembly actuator ...the starter will actually sit on the steering rack.... its a pain in the ass... i have gone thru this.. if u read my build thread u will see i went and did RHD conversion because i didn't want to mess with modifying the sub frame or lowering the sub frame like the ls1 guys did in the beginning....for suspension geometry reasons. but i later heard (not sure if its true or if it will work on the 37) but i was told that to relocate the starter on an hr to the opposite side like the de u can swap the mid and sub oil pans from the hr to the de... but i also don't know if the hr or de trans is used...also i went with the factory ecu flashed with UPREV that removes BCM and NATS system... and u can keep the DBW setup which is what i am doing, the 350z pedal actually bolts right up to the s13 stock location, but u have to bend the pedal up a lil from hitting the floor... just my 2 cents...

custom mounts will need to be made to answer ur question.
...any local fabricators in ur area should be able to pull something off

Please put up the whole build if you pull it off I've been thinking about doing this for about a month now and was thinking about how sweet it would be

I was just throwing around the idea a while back about doing an VQ35HR swap into an S14, but you basically need an entire 350z to pick all the parts from. Good luck! I'm anxious to see this done.

saw nd240sx3's build in stages in person...its doable, but break out the tylenol early...i also heard tell from him about a custom linkage for the starter, like a remote mount setup...but it was all custom 1off...food for thought...good luck with this. Also are you trying to keep the nismo diff?

I'm sure you could use the vq35 mounts as a starting platform and modify them some to work.
OP, it would be awesome if you could make this happen. As for wiring, I fully understand wanting to do it yourself for pride and saving money, but I would honestly leave such a heavy task to ZFever who specialize in this sort of thing. That way you can be 100% sure that the wiring is correct for every feature. Just my $.02

be a pioneer. venture and do it. although all the hype with the VQ37HR/VQ37VHR does not stay up to what it's supposed to be. videos and personal experience have shown that a VQ35HR is quite even compared to the 37's. it doesnt add up but it is what it is.

has that been proven or is that what that guy is saying.
i dont see how starter would get in the way of anything. i dont think they moved it but if they did then my bad. but even if they did i dont see it getting in the way.

True. I wasn't quoting that as factual I just brought it up as Coolwhip usually has somewhat of an idea of what he is talking about.
This is what sucks about being the first person to attempt something. So much unknown information. Once you pull off the mounts you have to turn around and tackle the wiring with no pre-made guides pulled from Google
