1. Check all grounds - battery to chassis, motor to chassis
2. check for voltage at starter when cranking - be careful not to electrocute yourself - have a friend help
3. make sure everything is plugged in and correct
4. check ECU for codes...

Basic troubleshooting... your internal combustion engine needs fuel, and spark to run, does it have those?

one of the grounds that people love to miss is the injector ground behind the motor. Also, the starter usually carries a high enough amperage draw to kill you, so heed his warning!

Who did the wiring for you, can you give us more details. blacktop, redtop, S14 or 13 SR, is your car an S13 or S14? details, man, details.

If the starter is turning over, then your friends ground to starter theory is off. but there are several engine to chassis grounds to check as well.

are you hearing your fuel pump prime? did you pull a plug and check for spark? did the engine have good compression?

Get back to us.

Yes i have checked those grounds. Also i ment the car wont even turn over it just stops at the starter it makes a pop noise. The starter is good. And ive checked the battery. Also i have a s13 red top sr

ok, so the starter is not engaging the flywheel is what you are saying?
And it is making a popping noise from the starter voltage terminal?
Like the clicking sound of the starter not getting enough voltage?
Have you checked the voltage and amperage to the starter?
You said the starter is good but how do you know?

If you do have the appropriate voltage and amps to the starter, I would suggest trying to turn the engine over by the crank to make sure your motor isn't seized. If it does, then I would say your starter has bitten the dust.

Turn the crank by hand..... I don't understand these threads there's like 5 a day and no one can search! If your starter clicks and doesn't engage then ur starter is bad. Order the Isis or mishimoto starter.

And if you try to start the car over and over again it will fuck up the gears inside the starter causing it to do exactly what your describing. Just read around the forum man. You will find your answer.

Hardly no one ever reply's to these threads anymore.

I am having the same problem, I have already cranked it by hand and the motor is not seized, I have checked the grounds, all my fuses, the signal relay starter wire, replaced the starter, I have a new battery, All I get is a starter click and my car does not crank what could the issue be?
