hey guys i am the new owner of a 1991 nissan 240sx with an sr20 swap and the speedometer is way off and im wondering if anyone knows if i can reset it or something? or if i can buy something to get the speed right? thanks

Shouldnt matter, its chassis specific. S13 VSS for S13 chassis and S14 VSS for S14 chassis. Sensor matches the gauge cluster to be exact.
Back to the OP, double check what sensor you have. Go under the car, look at the back end of the tranny, the last sensor before the tail area should be the VSS. See if its a sensor with a pigtail on it (S13) or if its a sensor with just a square-ish plug on it (S14).

tire overall diameter also affects the speedometer. if your tires diameter is way different from stock, your speedo readings will be off also.

your gauge cluster might be going out too. I had to go through a couple of gauge clusters to get one that worked right. My problem was all the other gauges were working fine but the speedo never moved. Just another thing to add to list of possible fixes

not to thread jack...but i was thinking the exact same thing....does anyone know of a calculator to determine if the final speed is off from an sr swap....and then know of a site to calculate with different sized tires....and finally determine what final gear size would correct the spedo
