I havn't priced this but would T-tops be a retarded effort on a hatch back? I donoo jsut wondering. I would have to reenforce the structure with a roll cage and that would wiegh more to right? Just wondering if this has ever been tried b4

Don't do it. Your car will never feel the same again.

so nobody has ever done t-tops or anything
I forget who it was but I think someone on the old mailling list was planning to do T-Tops but Im never heard if he did it.
I would love to have T-Tops though, they are soooooo much fun. How much would it cost you to get it done?

Actually, im pretty sure that supra's have a targa top, so the whole roof panel comes out, not just 2 pieces of it.
targa tops rock! I wish I could do it on my hatchback.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
I had an ex with an MR2 Series II with a targa top and I must say it is the most retarded engineering effort a person can do to a car, short of making it a full convertable.
Chassis twist was utterly terrible and caused the rubber mounts on the perspex inserts began to rub and wear so then the bastard would leak when it rained. Just to make it really piss you off the car was unbearable in summer with the sun beating down and heating up the inside like an oven, not to mention the sunburn... (Which is why I will never own a car with a sunroof)
When they add a targa to a car your basically cutting through two of your main loadbearing structures and they have to re engineer the #### thing down the centre= crappy chassis twist and more bother than its worth.
