easiest way is jacking the back up with a jack and pushing forward

the back is jacked up and the shaft is in to where the spline meets the clutch disk. will jacking it up more align the splines?

did you line up the clutch with a clutch alignment tool? or you just eye ball the clutch

this tool should look like this

yes i did. i donk know why it wont go in.. its a swap so when taking out a a/t pilot bushing it should just be a piece that looks like a bigger version of a m/t pilot bushing right? its lined up on the splines and everything it just wont go all the way in.

i know it's a pain, but maybe you should take it back out and take a good look at what's under the trans, perhaps something's gotten caught or is in the way....

get a couple of bolts started and turn them like you are tightening a wheel back onto a hug, little by little in a star pattern. If it wont go then, they you have a problem. easiest is to take it off again and turn it on its side with the starter hump down, slide it all in, and then turn the transmission. Give it a shot. sometimes you cant get it first try, and gotta try a couple of times.

also, did you see before installing the pilot bushing that it actually fit on the end of the transmission input shaft??

stupid question but i have seen it before. are there any dowl pins on both the trans and the block that are in the same location? unless i am using a lift, i just yank the moto and trans together and install them together.

Great suggestion... i've personally been bitten by this, especially if it's not the trans you took out...

Shouldn't this be in the tech section?
