Obama's new Christmas Tree Tax

Obama Couldn't Wait: His New Christmas Tree Tax (http://blog.heritage.org/2011/11/08/obama-couldnt-wait-his-new-christmas-tree-tax/)

Now is this proof that the Government is out of control?

Christmas tree sellers are free to pass along the 15-cent Federal fee to consumers who buy their Christmas trees.

I doubt the prices will increase by 15 cents...

Simple solution - Stop cutting down trees people. We need trees to live and to help get rid of all the crap in the air. At least that's what i learned back in biology class in elementary school. Buy those fake plastic trees that last a life time and cost just as much.

You do realize that those christmas trees are only grown to be cut down and put in your living room right? it's like saying stop eating chicken before domesticated chickens go extinct.

It makes sense to me. If they want to spend money to get more people to buy who better to do it than those who grow, sell, and buy?

Part of the reason the States is in such a big mess financially is that NOBODY wants to pay any taxes, and they keep voting out anyone that will bring up taxes to help pay for the enormous dept...

Someone's gotta pay for it eventually

You vote for whomever the GOP puts in front of you, no matter how little sense that candidate makes or vague their approach is. If they get caught up in any kind of scandal, blame the “Liberal Media” and don’t believe any of the allegations.

what the hell does 15-cents/tree accomplish?
It's really not a lot at all, but I question the absurdity of the concept.
Of all things, why the Christmas tree?

what next, Lederhosen tax?

Mine too but he is also about not pressing your own beliefs on others so I don't think it will be an issue.

Considering Ron Paul's others views I'm surprised he is, although I guess that's the creationist in him.

So we're taxing christmas trees now? LOL wow. I'm not even all that surprised. Just one more thing to add to the list of royally asinine "solutions" to fixing our national debt problem. Whatever...

Politics in America today is an absolute joke. It's ALL bullshit. Political parties, liberal, conservative, electoral college, our voting system, etc......all bullshit. If i were to divulge, this post would end up being the length of a term paper.

Vote for who makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside because quite frankly it doesn't fucking matter.

I've had the same xmas tree for years. If I wanted a new real one, I'd go to the Forrest and get one. Tax or not, whats to stop you? Oh right many of you are city dwellers and can't justify going for a few hour drive to find one. I get it.

are you, by any chance, religious?

are you by any chance, irresponsible?

I will always support the children. Every life deserves a chance to prosper better then its stupid parents.

And for the species being "produced" there isn't a chance in the world they will go extinct due to the "production".

What is your point and what does it have to do with Douglas firs in my living room?

Everyone stopped talking about this right about the time the non-tax was quashed.

And tree farmers were actually FOR it.

Good going, now we know Obama is taxing Christmas out of existence for Kwanzaa instead
