S13:Should I turbo my KA or buy a sr20

Im stuck i have a 89 s13 hatch and it has a single cam KA. i found a complete tubro kit ( turbo, manifold, inner cooler, all the lines ) for about $400 locally for the KA or i found a complete running sr20det with 5 speed, ecu, he says "everything needed".for about $1100 and a 4 hour drive. I have a shop tools and lifts and stuff. Im trying to build a fun inexpensive drift car, not tryin to race formula just have a good time smoking some tires. All input is welcomed. Thanks

- oh and its not going to be street legal, and im running no a/c or that stuff just motor and ecu pretty much
- and ive "heard" that the cast iron blocks on the sohc can be good ? idk
