HKS fake or real?

So I bought the Version 3 about 9 months ago from a dealer from Malaysia for about 80 shipped. I figured it was fake but looks so good.

I decided to purchase one from MVP motorsports of dallas TX which was a pro dealer for HKS. Of course the 4th model cost me an arm and leg but wanted to see what you guys thought of my old one.

The hologram look identical.

If you bust it open to look at the internals, I'm pretty sure thats where you'll see the quality between the two.

My guess is the larger one is a real, the one on the left.

That link to the hks counterfeit website seems like the counterfeits look almost exactly the same as the real one i cant even tell what they are trying to point out lol

The HKS site makes it damn hard to tell the difference it really doesnt help.

I bought one off ebay a few years ago that was marketed as real, and you could tell alot easier that the quality wasn't their, specifically the fin on the top of the fake wasn't even straight nor did it have a serial number on it like the real deal lol. Needless to say I contacted the seller who insisted it was real, I sent pictures showing my buddies real one and the fake side by side. Got my money back as soon as I shipped the thing back.

Yes, because it's not a $80 knock off...If you were to open the two you'd see the difference.

You have to have seen a real hks, before!:Owned: Although knockoff's do change from time to time. I'm comparing it to what Ive seen and the vacuum port and the ring around the hologram is that.
If the knockoff's are done shitty, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

DING DING DING DING! We have a winner, this is 100% true, the only way to really tell other then opening it up is the weight. They real one compared to the fake is the weight. Its similar to a real and fake rolex. This fake I have is top notch no doubt but the weight is close to 3/4 of a pound in difference, maybe even a whole pound.

To answer one post, the one on the right is the real one. Please keep in mind these are not the same in model specifications.

Also the fake one sounded great, and honestly better then the real one but after a while it wouldnt release pressure.

Yea heavier is real, but either way....my buddy had a knock off ssqv from hks and actually sounded and performed decent...lasted him almost a year. Bought a real one, sounded awesome but, only lasted maybe a month lol...so who cares...its all a name thing.
