So I've been doing some research on upgrading my lighting right now that my lights are off of the car. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of how crappy my lights look at night but, I have trouble looking at the road with the low visibility of my lights. I read up that it's more of a hassle retrofitting zenki headlights than the kouki's, and somewhere else I read that the lighting comes out scattered and whatnot if you throw in an HID kit in them. Now my question is, does having glass headlights give me a slight advantage of improving the scattering of the light and avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

If anything can any of you post pics of your Zenki's with HIDs?

I'm undecided if to just stick in getting some Sylvania Silverstars to improve my lighting or to jump on a HID kit. 6k or 8k? [undecided]
(input on which are better, aiming for a slight arctic/glacier look but, something that won't have me causing attention to the cops)

My S14 had HID's and I loved them. Just go ahead and buy them if that's what you want man.

So you like the ridiculous glare or the color?

What brands are worth looking into?

If you really only want it for the look then definitely go for it... I have HID's with stock Zenki lenses and I wouldn't say its a preferable setup, but the light output is definitely better than stock. I HAVE been flashed before for them, but they aren't too crazy. From my understanding, the glass lenses will make glare even worse with HID's.

I got glass headlights as well. From what I read I don't think the scattering effect is beneficial in anyway when it comes to HID kits. I ended up just getting some osram/philips headlights because of this.

I had euro glass headlights with 8000k hid's. My bulbs had a light shield and I aligned the headlights as close to possible to factory specs. I never got flashed and the 8000k blue looked really cool.

I was reading about bulbs having the light shields also. Do you have any pics of how they looked? Which ones were you using? brand wise.

Ditching the yellow faded plastic headlights for the nice glass euro headlights was one of the best things I ever did to my zenki :)

I'm not one that likes to copy what others like but, I'm new at this whole HID kit conversions, I'm barely looking into them, but which kit exactly did you use?

BTW I just realized that your Zenki is the one in Marcos' office together with his old S13 and R32, love your old zenki man. :)

Haha thanks! Yeah I was really flattered that he liked my s14. I bought a KLight kit from one of the vendors here. I have the same kit on my s13 with glass h4 housings. I don't know if they sell them here anymore. I was looking at the Retro Solutions kit from the OP and they look pretty nice. It looks like their bulbs have a light shield.

I currently have the Euro Glass with 8k Low and 6k High beams. The light isn't an issue if you have them aimed right. If they are aimed too high then they become an issue for oncoming drivers. But I also had the shields around the lights as well. I bought mine from Sonic Motoring.
