Just dropped in the SR and I'm using Drift Freaq's mounts. Are most of you guys running a heat shield? What heat shield did you guys use and where was it placed?

While searching ebay found this: AP EXHAUST 9206 Exhaust Heat Shield | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/AP-EXHAUST-9206-Exhaust-Heat-Shield-/170671875428?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240SX&vxp=mtr&hash=item27bcd62564#ht_1008wt_931)

not sure if that is remotely anything I'm looking for...

Please chime in, don't wanna burn up these mounts lol

I'm still using my oem heat shield, it's not enough. One day I'll get some heat tape or something for it.

^ Are you running a NA motor?
Mine have been on just over a year and the mount on the turbo side is a little messed up from the heat. Nothing major, I just need to do something about it.

Ya I do recommend you do. Heat does affect Polyurethane. I recommend using a stock heat shield at minimum on NA its fine, If you are running a turbo then heat wrap is what a lot of people have done.

I have considered making a heat shield for the mounts again. Though if I did it would probably raise the price up around $10 . I am not sure I want to do that at this time given the current state of the economy.

On the trans mount, I won't lie it would not be cheap and there are people making trans mounts for a price that I could not beat.
Now lots of people have expressed interest but that does not always translate to sales. Given that, its hard to commit to making a trans mount.
Especially when I would have to sell them at a premium price.

Yup, you warned me back when I bought them. Honestly I've just been lazy/forgetful and haven't gotten around to wrapping them yet. I do like them though, I bought both the motor mounts and a nismo tranny mount from you and I'm happy.
