I have learned that its hard to get an sr20det alternator and i should get a ka24de alternator and pulley. I have having a hard time finding a site that has the alternator and pulley. My cars been out of comission for a month now can someone please help :)

Dude it's not that hard to find a sr alternator just do a post in the want to buy sec and someone will have one for sale it took me less then one day to find one when my went out. Also I have heard that you can use the internals of a ka in a sr housing.

i know i can grab a used one, but i want a new one and dont want to pay 550$

Used picked up a used ka or sr. Have you try autozone or advance for a new ka one

I used my Ka one. Just get a new pulley from frsport or enjuku. I think the ka one just needs one of the holes drilled out bigger.

You might as well get the quest alternator and get a bracket kit from some one here that makes them, I'm sure he still makes the quest for SR20 kit.

And if you happen to blow your 75 amp fuses while replacing your alternator, I have a bunch for sale for 8 dollars each shipped.

Remove pulley from an SR alternator, swap it onto a KA alternator.

Drill out one hole that is smaller so the tensioner can feed through the hole.

Bolt up.

Done.
