I was told that there are 2 different kinds of 91+ 7 spoke alloys and only 1 of them will clear Z brakes. Will they clear 26 only or both 26 and 30mm? Anyone have pictures? And how can you tell which ones you have?

There is only one kind of 7 spoke S13 alloy wheels. The only other wheel option was wheel with the big ass center cap and it looked like a saw blade at the outside of the wheel (I am sure I didn't explain this well).

Don't spread wrong info.
There are 2 different designs of 7-spokes s13 stock alloys. Although both look EXACTLY the same outside, the 'inside' spoke design is different. One has some 'reinforment' bumpy thing on the back of the spokes, while the other one is just almost flat. you need the get the flat-inside-spokes ones to clear z32 brakes.
I'll try to find you some pics.

IIRC they were the ones with one flat rib on the inside as opposed to two.
Here is a pic of mine. I don't have Z brakes so I wouldn't know if they fit or not, but they have the one broad rib.

please correct me if I am wrong
Oh, and they only fit the smaller of the Z brakes(26mm).

Oh damn, I never knew that. Which wheels came on what trims?

Yep, looks like the wheels that I posted will clear 26mm Z brakes without a spacer. And they will clear the 30mm with a 3mm spacer
See this thread for more details: http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB27&Number=67570451&Forum=All_Forums&Words=7%20spoke%20Z%20brakes&Match=And&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=67570442&Search=true#Post67570451
^good pics in this thread as well, also pics of the 7 spokes that do not fit.

So based on that thread the Saw Blade, or Tear Drop rims wont clear Z32 brakes. Can anyone confirm that?...cause I have those wheels, and I would rather not get new wheels for a while, but good brakes are fairly important.

From what I have gathered in my searches the other 7 spoke and the teardrops will fit, but they require an "undetermined" spacer. Meaning that no one has tried it. I just took a pic of my tear drop wheel in my closet:

if you add .orig.jpg you can see that there are ribs along the inside rim of the wheel, I assume that comes into play with clearance issues. It also appears that the "spokes" aren't offset as much as those on my 7 spokes. Since the 7 spokes are on my car right now, I don't have them side by side to really tell the differences though.
If good braking is important to you, but you cant afford a $100 set of stock 7 spokes, just upgrade your pads, fluid and lines. In most cases that should be sufficient. If you are heavily tracking your car, you should look into getting some track wheels and tires.
