So I've been into 240s since I was 15 years old. I've had literally about 10 of these things between then and now.

I just turned 23 in july and still have a rust free '90 coupe with an sr20, coils, kaaz 1.5 way, z brakes, full suspension, fully seam welded, ect.

the car needs paint and a new turbo setup (going 2871r or going home on this part of it)

my question is, for you guys that have been in the game a while, are you still into these cars? Will I be happy driving a 1990 240sx at 23 even given that its awesome??

just trying to sort it out mentally before I drop 4k into it and sell it immediately after :picardfp:

do you really need other people's opinions on whether you like the car enough to drop 4k into?

how is that even relevant?

soo..............what do you want now? You post in a 240 forum if people are still into 240s. The obvious answer is yes. Will you be happy driving it? That's up to you. I hate my car sometimes, love it other times.

To each their own.

Some people here are in their 30s and are happily with their S chassis.

Some people probably can't wait to get rid of theirs.

They're probably still "into it" because they still have/drive their cars though. Will you be happy? My magic 8 ball says "yes, it is decidedly so"

I'm one of those people in their 30s still messing with 240s
been into them for over a decade now
owned several and currently three
one, an s13, has sat now for almost five years
logically I should get rid of it but I can't seem to get around to it
I think I'm over daily driving one but I can see me having a project/track one for a long long time

don't let them become the focal point of your social and/or financial life and you'll be ok

yes, since the nature of the beast is that Its sat in the garage for the last 1.5 years I barely remember what its like to drive it. also noise and ride harshness are something that I feel I could deal with a lot better at 18 than 23.

I know, just wondering about people who have been in the game a long time and are now going into their mid 20s like myself. The person who is 25 and just dropped 6k for his first modded s13 isnt really the audience I was looking for.

makes sense, well I guess with obd2 and whatnot I wont really have a chance to own a highly modified car ever again, especially without abs / traction control ect. maybe I should keep it just to have the option to experience a "pure" sportscar

You should save another 2K and drop 6k into it

<- just turned 30.

I'm still a firm believer that you only live once. If it's not loud, rough, and crazy, I don't like it.

That comment goes for lots of things.

explore other options.

Too many good cars in the world to have 10 of the same thing.

Just like he said, You've got one shot at life.
Make decisions and act for the now, stuff like this shouldn't be dependent on whats going to happen tomorrow or even years down the line.

Imagine how many things would have never happened if people thought, "naw, Thats gonna suck next week"

Do it as you want, not just for this but everything you do.

I'm 31 and I'm on my 3rd S14 in 11 yrs. I like the chassis alot, probably just cuz I know the ins and outs of the car. If I was in a better situation, I'd probably be driving something else this year (G35 coupe or 350z). As much as I like the influx of parts for the car nowadays, I just hate the stigma and cars getting stolen nowadays.

I'm 22 and after 4 years i'm SICK of daily driving the S14.

Too loud, too stiff, too much unwanted attention from HS kids and drunk old men on the street. Never from girls, lol.

Can't wait to get into something a little more "grown up" and comfy. Something that I would want to leave stock.

Will I ever get rid of /stop modding the S14? Not a chance in hell.

This! Seriously, it sounds like you've done a lot in the 240 realm, try something else out. It's not like 240's aren't cheap...

This is the only point needed in response to this thread...

And yes, I am 32, have been driving 240s since 2001, dailyed my S13 until July and JUST dropped it off for paint last week.
As has been said by another 30+, don't let it become the whole of your social and financial life and all is fine, nothing in the world is wrong with maintaining a project/toy, even a VERY long-term one.
However...
Back to the original (quoted) point. Other peoples' opinion on what YOU do with YOUR car and YOUR money seems to kinda work against the theory of the age of 23 being this uber mature pillar of maturity. Therefore...
