i wouldnt mind a stock hood or one with a little scoop built in but i dont like the idea of it being a different color than everything else on the car. im wondering if its a different process to paint. The price on these CF hoods seems to be coming down so...

Paint process is just like metal.
Same as fiberglass also.
Fill/fix imperfections.
Prime.
Paint.
Simple.

make sure you clear coat it first

then if you decide you want to remove the paint

sand down to the clearcoat so you dont fuck the carbon up

if you don't like the carbon fiber look i'd suggest using a fiberglass hood, its much cheaper than CF and just as if not liter.

Nope, when is comes to "wet" composite parts, like these hoods and such, the carbon and fiberglass ones weigh about the same.
It all depends on the craftsman.

I love fiberglass, it's cheap and easy to mold.
It's kind of a shame that most import car kids have been tricked into thinking that these carbon hoods are soo much lighter than fiberglass ones.
Did you know that you can build these carbon hoods in your garage?
So, don't be sucker, fiberglass is awesome.

Tons of Japanese companies make them.
here's an example.http://www.jspec.com/msportshood.html
Now these are vented and expensive, but you get the idea.
Ask Dousan36 about fiberglass hoods, he could probably name off about 50 different companies making the things.:D lol.

About the same, if not lighter than those "carbon" hoods.
