There are no differences between then JDM Aero/optional side skirts for the chuki years from coupe to fastback.

ok
first things first

those for slae are OEM CANADA (not japan) sides and rear

VERY different then JDM

on sam's car (yellow s13), those are NOT JDM OEM

those are BOMEX

jdm oem is this:
http://store3.yimg.com/I/jspec_1768_111019491.jpg

canada oem is like this:
http://www.pdm-racing.com/products/imag/3piecebodykit3.jpg

the canada one has a 'scoop' type shape at the rear of door.
the japanese one line is different. also the japanese ones sit a BIT lower, but not mcuh

the japanese ones also 'sink' in at middle towards car. the canada ones are straight (if you look from rear quarter foward, you would understand)

also the japanese ones are arched at bottom, the canada ones are very slight, nearly nothing.

i have owned both. im not talking out of my ass.

they are VERY DIFFERENT!

how can you tell from the ones for sale are not JDM ones?

look at the side that goes nearest the rear
the 'line' does nto go to end, it stops near middle and the front is kinda sunk compared w/ rear of that section.

the japanese ones have the line going to near the end of the skirt

also the most obvious...the arch.

canada one is very minimal. jdm one is quite obvious.

Unfortunately, no. It was optional on the SE Hicas model only...

It was a pretty rare sight.

when for sale though, they go for dirt cheap (around 200-300$ CDN). I paid my sideskirts and rear apron for 200$cdn

pulling an old thread up while doing some research on oem sideskirts. ive always wondered if there was a jdm s13 silvia sideskirt. ive noticed that most of the oem jdm sideskirts on s13 coupes i see are arched and people say they are "180sx chuk"i skirts. i also noticed that the canadian skirts aren't as angled and straighter edge, but was there ever a side skirt for s13 silvias in japan that was straight or did the jdm arched skirts only come on 180sx chukis and no sideskirt option for s13 silvias?

i was also reading kazuo's oem s13 aero guide and talking to him on aim and he told me there was an s13 silvia side skirt but they are straighter than the chuki sides and rarer and looked like cdn sideskirts. (he also mentioned they were gay and told me not to get them. he has the '180sx chuki' sides on his car and he says he likes those better than the straight cdn ones because you can see them and the straight ones look like nothing is even on there)

but yea.. so based on what my research so far.. im assuming:

*jdm/usdm/cdn zenki year had no aero package except for zenki lip in all markets? (usdm zenki lip for sure)

*thus, only until 'chuki' years that optional aero packages became available (also why everyone calls the jdm s13 side skirts "180sx chuki skirts")

*no oem chuki aero option in usdm, but available in cdm and jdm market

*confused about whether the sides and rear option were only for fastbacks/180sx. ive yet to see any optional aero for cdn coupes/jdm silvias except for s13 silvia aero bumper

so.. DO jdm s13 silvia 'straight' sideskirts really exist?!! are the only jdm sideskirts the arched ones and the only straight ones from cdn market? or are jdm s13 silvia sides skirts the same as cdn straight sideskirts. its driving me insane.

When I purchased these, they were listed as OEM Silvia Skirts. Don't know if this helps or not. :D

That Guy, if i recall, Silvia side skirts are a little more plain looking. You have 180sx side skirts (non Type X. the type X is 2 peice)

type x.. eer.. kouki are 4piece actually. but yea.. 2 piece on each side

thatguy.. those sideskirts are the ones i see often on almost every coupe (see how they arch?) and almost every importer that sells them claim they are jdm s13 SILVIA sides but many people call them 180sx chuki sides. im pretty sure those came on chuki 180sx but since importers call them jdm silvia sides they might have indeed came on jdm s13 silvia as well.. im assuming they are actually 180sx sides but every importer just calls them s13 silvia sides b/c of the jdm hype. im pretty sure they only came on 180sx, but i saw some canadian guy's cardomain site who imported a jdm silvia and he has those straight sideskirts and aero bumper on his silvia so i dont know what to think. does anyone know for sure if jdm silvias had another oem sideskirt which was straight?

Upon further research, I do indeed have 180sx skirts. Fine by me, they look good. :rawk:

I would tend to agree. I happen to like them a lot , and as I do I have a set of them as well. :D
Now I want the Bomex rear valence as it happens to go with those side skirts quite well.

Lets say, i want a sideskirt that looks pretty much stock, nothing crazy. And i have a pignoise coupe with front lip.

Now i want some sideskrits that will even up the lines of my lip without ending up adding a rear lip. What would i be looking at?

Thanks

TipStylez, go with OEM Silvia side skirts. It'll flow well. If you think that is too plain, try 180sx side skirts (look at the green thing a few posts above). Any aftermarket aero will look too aggressive for an oem bumper even with a lip.

^the version select ones have a 3d-ish affect that i dont like. They stick out. Im stick with the silvias sicne they look the most OEM. But where can i find one and whats the price range on these guys?

Ebay has them for around 400shiped at most...

Thanks

oem stuff is about 300-350 + shipping from most importers. jspec and pandagarage has oem sideskirts. i think they want 350+ shipping. this thread is starting to get off topic...
