I just finished installing an Isis intake manifold. As the title states there is a whistling noise coming from what seems like the first injector (closest one to the headlights). I had to replace the top injector seal on the suspect injector due to a gasoline leak. It runs and drives but will not keep an idle. Also the air/fuel ratio is 17+ during idle and deceleration. The whistling noise increases and decreases with throttle. Pretty sure it's not a boost leak.

I just checked my injector and corresponding seal. Also I took off the intake manifold cleaned the surface and reinstalled it. Still no dice. I have been researching this for a while now and can't find any answers. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm trying really hard here to not take my car to a shop and have someone else touch it.

cleaning your iacv might help the idle thing. holding vacuum?
i have a weird whistling under boost sounds like it might be from the bov or turbo area, sounds pretty high pressure. only seems to happen if i boost in second. anyone know whats up?

I was not holding enough vacuum. It was at 10 during idle when it should be near 20. I found my leak just a couple minutes ago though. It was the throttle body gasket not being seated properly. My car runs and drives great now.
@soundbwoy, Yours could be a number of things. You're going to have to be more specific though. Does it happen when you....
accelerate
decelerate
are in a certain gear
Also car model, engine, and mods?

i have a s13 silvia ca18. 125k kms
cai, 450cc dsm injectors, apexi n1 3" turbo back, hks boost guage, aem uego, shitty rom tune i think ( only had the car for about a month)
noticed the noise after installing a boost tee ( which sucks balls dont waste your money! )
only happens on full load pulls 2nd gear and 3rd sometimes. almost sounds like my blow off triggering so i think it might have something to do with the old hks sequential bov that came with the car. could also be a boost leak from messing with the vacuum lines for the mbc install.
i fear it might be compressor surge but am not sure yet, i will get my car looked at when my ls spec kit comes in but would like to sort it out on my own.
how do you find a vacuum / boost leak?
edit : running stock boost i think about 0.5 bar
