you know when they say only use 1-16 level of the 24 way adjustable dampening? is it 1-16 where 1 is the softest? or 1-16 where 16 is at the hardest setting? thanks

yea, i printed it out before but it doesn't specify. heres what it says on dampening force adjustment part:
1. Turn to hardest setting clockwise and then set to standard values (which is 12 in front, 14 in rear).
2. Caution : Dont turn knob past the last position.
3. Use only levels 1 - 16. Exceeding level 16 may damage the damper
thats about all it says... no clue as to which is level 1-16.

Hey Matt, didn't you just say the same thing??? LOL!!! Anyways yes, 1 is the softest and 16 is obviously the hardest ;)
They come set at 16 so adjust from there. Be sure to check the top bolt on your fronts... I and many others have noticed that after install of the HE's they are loose and cause a knocking noise. Check the instructions for the torque spec on da bolt.

LOL! but arrrrrggg.. does 1 = softest softest? like full counterclockwise softest? or 1 = softest where 16 is the hardest hardest like full clockwise hardest? know what im saying mang?

sorry to say this, but are you really that much of a moron?
and ill bold it too for ya
page 7
1. Use the included wrench (HEX wrench) to turn the adjustment knob on top of the piston rod to the hardest setting (Full clockwise)
2. From the full clockwise position, turn the adjustment knob counter clockwise until the "Standard Values" listed below are reached
Front: Turn back 12 clicks (From the hardest setting)
Rear: Turn back 12 clicks (From the hardest setting)
if you cant figure that out, you shouldnt be buying coilovers.

yes, indeed i am.
but seriously.. how are you supposed to be 100% sure that when they say "from the hardest setting" that they actually mean its the hardest setting you can use. they should have just said you can use levels 8-24.
i just like to be sure im doing the right thing cause i dont' want to fuck it up. Better to ask lots of dumb questions then do it wrong right?
even though you called me a moron, thanks dousan. :)

you can be sure because its printed plain as day:
tein says:
hardest setting (Full clockwise)
From the full clockwise position, turn the adjustment knob counter clockwise
meaning hardest setting is #1
because they suggset 12 clicks FROM HARDEST SETTING
so hardest setting would be #1 (full clockwise) and count 12
so THINK about it. its not rocket science!

Well if full clockwise is hardest, then its safe to say that full counter-clockwise is softest. Start from softest and turn clockwise up to 16 clicks. Is that any easier for you?

hahaha
BUT WHY?!
full softest would be like 24 or so clicks...and those you SHOULD NOT be using (can damage shock)
so either way you will start at full hard (clockwise) and turn back 16 only to turn back clockwise to count from #1 (which is now full soft)??
start at full hard adn count to go softer.

i'm sure you've figured it out by now, but you could also just push down on the shock tower area. you should really be able to tell if it's harder or softer at the extremes. i don't recommend pushing on the fender, might dent.

why even put setting you cant use? theres 24 clicks total but you can only use 8-24, why not build the thing without clicks 1-7 OR if its necessary for the correct construction, they should make a lock type thing that wont allow you to go below click 8 and damage the thing.
