So I know it has to do with the ECCS relay but rather than wire that up could I wire up pins 47 and 38 directly to 12v? The car is a race car and sits most of the time so it wouldn't be a problem with the battery drain. Are those the correct pins?

That's wierd... it's probably not because of your ECCS relay. Even if you loose power to those pins(38 and 47)(which happen each time you turn the key off), you should keep your settings. If you put some constant power to those pin, your car won't shut off lol.

Even if you disconnect the ECU, it should keep your setting.

Each time you change something, it is saved in the EEPROM. Those chip doesn't require power to keep the setting...

Maybe a bad eeprom is the problem?!

Also, you should have constant power (12V) to pin 46 and 109... maybe that could help keeping the settings.

Are you using a datalogit or the controller?

Using the controller. There needs to be a gap between the shut off in ignition and the ecu actually powering down of about 1.5 seconds. This is a common problem but I can seem to find a straight answer about how to fix it easily. I'd rather not have to rewire my harness to much.

That relay is what gives it that momentary pause and allows the ecu to save. I was hoping there was an easy way to not have to wire this whole circuit in.

Put a switch on the wire that grounds the ECCS relay then turn it off 1.5 seconds (or when idiot bell dings) after turning the ignition off.

Hmm that's a good idea. I just gotta find it. My car had a painless kit so it's been moved.

yeah i remember this coming up frequently on 240's with RB swaps in the S13 chassis. We want to use the power FC but it cant remember how much fuel to infect... :hyper:

Another thing I think I'm going to try is just put a switch on the ignition signal to the ECU. Interrupt that and the ecu will go into save mode, wait 2 seconds, then turn the car off. In theroy I should only have to do that when saving settings.

Just an update on this for anyone who needs the info in the future.

My solution worked. I simply put a switch in on the ignition signal and it's been perfect. 99% of the time I don't worry about it. When its on the dyno I flick it to save before turning the car off. Easy as pie!

Does your fuel pump run when ignition is switched instead of priming and then shutting off? My ecu relay and fuel pump relay were switched where dit was spliced into chassis harness. I guess it runs the factory ecu.just fine, but won't power a power fc. Also i havent read the whole thread but check fuses. Glad you found a temp solution though.
