im in an $800 dollar debt and need to pay before the middle of january. i can't find a job anywhere. and im a 17 year old. im stressing about college apps. and i really am running out of ideas of finding ways to get this much money besides my weekly allowance of $20 bucks. and i can't tell my parents because they'd make me sell my car. any tips? this is a desperate cry for help.

BULLSHIT I think to myself, I wanted to call the cops and complain, then I remembered how I really can't bitch, I took a 12 week summer vacation with a broken jaw and shoulder and have still made decent money for myself this year, but now I know what to do NEXT time I need money, maybe you should try it too. You could try selling plasma, or stealing all your family's CDs and DVDs and pawning them... Just make sure you don't wind up on Judge Mathis behind that shit. If all else fails, you could try one of either the dope or pimp game, I understand that they are both really big about now.

Heres some ideas for getting some money (for a 17 yo):

-Donate plasma I think its like $45 the first time then each $25 after that. You cant do it every week, but its something.

-Pizza delivery driver I know it seems sucky, but I did it in college and if you work for the right place you can make nice tips plus hourly wage. The key here is to work for a pizza place that does alot of business with local suburbs and businesses. Dont work at some cheesy discount pizza place, because you'll get broke ass people ordering deliveries and they wont tip. Try to work at a place like Pizza Hut or some other place that has higher prices...and make sure the store's service area is near some nice neighborhoods.

-Holiday Mall Job I know you said you've already looked...and I know Christmas is approaching fast....but I would goto the mall and basically stop by almost every store there that you wouldnt mind working at. Take a printout cheatsheet of all your work history info and references with you (to help fill out apps quickly) and fill out the apps IN the store. Before you hand it in, ask to speak with the manager and hand it to him/her personally. Even if you get a job at a store that isnt "cool" or have an employee discount you'd acutally use, it's still a job.

-Car was job Friends of mine did this in college and the tips were nice.

hell ya...um JOB.....At 16 i made 6 grand in one summer, and 4 grand for one school year 1 night and 2 days a week, at a skateshop...then did a little car audio training and worked installing that shit... you can do it.........just go be a stock boy at like best buy or something nows tthe time of year when they need you....and you need them....SOOO... go apply....www.bestbuy.com

theres a place around here that does medical research for generic drugs, I dunno if they have them around where you are. its totally safe because basically they're just copies of drugs that have allready been researched. the government requires them to have a certain number of test subjects or something like that. its hella cash for like a 24-48 hour stay at their facility, where you just watch tv, play pool, and talk to people and hang out.

there's always someplace to get a job. go check out a grocery or wal-mart, or mcdonalds. those places are always hiring. if this is truly such a desperate situation (which it seems to be), something's got to give, be it the car, getting a shitty job, or just not paying back the debt.

Apply or Re-apply at all the fast food places in your area. Fast food places have really high turnover rates, so people are always quitting or getting fired. Call them back within a day or two so they don't forget you. Make sure they actually look at your application instead of throwing it away. Pester them until they give you a job or tell you to fuck off. Worse comes to worse ask your parents because if you can't get a job you're going to have to sell your stuff anyways.

i don't know. it just so happens that when i do apply for a job, the ones that get hired are the ones that have work experience. and i don't have any. it's different in LA. first come first serve i guess. :(

its america. to get what you want you have to be aggressive. be polite, but aggressive. no job today? fine. call back in 2 days. or show up in person. just keep applying to every place you can possible think of. getting a job is a number game. spam yourself out to as many employers as possible and someone will eventually hire you.

also, try to get to know people in the store. introduce yourself by name, etc etc. ask them how its like to work there and shit. basically make it so that when there is an opening, the first person they think of is you. there's more to getting a job then work experience. to be a successful employee you have to get along well with everyone else. so much the better if they already know you'll fit in fine.

if there was an easy way to make $$$ really quick (short of dealing drugs), nobody would be working. good luck!

I find it very hard to believe you can't land one job. I believe you just applied once and never followed thru (reapply). Listen to what someone mentioned before about Best Buy....not sure if its too late...but retail stores are looking for temporary help. You will work full time hours and make lots of money....but its only temporary.

Did you get a Job? I know it's difficult, but it can always be worse for you. You've got transportation at least. Your living with your parents so you don't have rent hanging over you. You can do it you just have to be super aggresive. Hit ever store you can find. If they are advertising for workers or not. Call back after you have handed in the Resume/application after 3/4 days. Ask people you know or your parents know for help in finding one or if they have oddball work to do. Temp agency's will find you work and some pay everyday so you get the money the day you work.

I haven't worked in 3 months cause Im a ex-Fuckup. I have the shittest work history ever. never ever been able to hold a job, have a criminal record, and I just got two jobs. One's a temp job packing trucks for 8 an hour 7 days a week for about two weeks and then I have a audit inventory job coming in at 7.50 with lower hours.

You have to attack the world as if it is a enemy. You must use it to meet your needs or it will walk all over you. Just stick to it and lose fear. The worst thing that can happen is they say no. When they do I just smile and say "I tried did'nt I. That was the best I could do." It will work out for you, do not become discouraged.:D auto.

Wow. If you're going to post a 2 word post, at least do it right. Plasma does not equal blood. Blood has plasma in it.. it's not plasma though. Trees have leaves on them, but leaves aren't trees. Plasma is the pure medium the blood is, a clear fluid without blood cells, platelets, or anything else. Plasma takes about an hour to donate, and is more complex than simply a blood donation. Hence, the reason that they pay you for it.

don't hold a standard as if you're too good for some kind of job. don't feel as though you're above fast food or cleaning stockrooms at a grocery store or even bagging groceries. you have to start at the bottom and work from there. hell, i'm in school, and already making more than a person fresh out of college with the degree i'm working toward mainly due to work experience. i've worked full time since i was 14 and i've done all of the crappy grunt jobs there are, just be confident in the fact that you can probably just quit after you pay off what you need to if $800 is all you need to make.
