HELP: I need some advice.

Okay, I will have about $2500 to spend on my car within the next few weeks and wanted to get your opinions on what I plan to buy. I live in CA so I bound by CARB but have come up with a creative way to get around them partially...

What do you guys think of:

ECU (JWT?): I need something that I can program on the fly using my laptop. Something that I could change to make the car put out lower emissions when it comes time to smog.

CAMS/CAM GEARS: Here is why I need those lower emissions. Since the cams won't be seen, the car can't fail visual and if I can change the emissions to pass I'll be good to go.

EXHAUST: I was thinking the N1 Dual or the 5zigen Fireball. I just need to make sure it's CARB approved.

HEADER: I hear mixed reviews on the hotshot. Do you guys have any reccomendations?

TUNING: Put the car on the dyno and have my shop tune it to get the most out of my mods.

Will these mods be too expensive given my available cash? Remember I can't go SR/turbo because it won't pass emissions in CA. What type of gains do you think these mods will yield?

I think remember Rob (the chef)'s FMAX passsing smog. I think he had to detune it or something, I'll ask him next time I see him. only thing you gotta look out for is the visual inspection, but nobody cares about that anyways.

If I were you this is what I would do:

Greddy is coming out with a CARB approved estimated to retail mid 2002. Put the $2500 in a mutual fund or CDs for 6 months. When the turbo comes out, you already have the money for it. Buy it, get it installed and you have a fast car and the first to get a CARB legal turbo in your car. I live in Modesto, Ca and I'm thinking about getting it too. Not soon though, but I'll keep on wishing.

I wouldn't even bother with all the other bolt ons since you will be getting more HP's with the turbo than doing all the other bolt on crap and you'll be spending the same as if you got the turbo in the first place, but only less HPs. Do all the other bolt ons after you get the turbo.

Chicken: That's actually a really good idea. &nbsp;I went to the perf shop tonight and the guy started talking with me about doing the SR swap. &nbsp;Apparently they've done quite a few recently and he's going to hook me up with the guys who did them so I can see how they plan to work it out.

Jskim: You are correct. &nbsp;The pictures in the parking garage are right near Old town sacramento and the bridge shots are in Discovery park.
