I am still mad right now, but I am happy I am okay. I was going to a sport car club banquet and I was making a left turn. There are two left lanes, I was in the right one in 240keyy and Bbandit were in the other lane. I get in my proper lane, but this damn dodge truck continues to get into my lane and hits my driver side rear quarter panel. It is pretty much crushed in. I will get pics of it later. I pull over and bip my horn and pull over, but the stupid truck driver keeps on going. Luckily my other friend in his civic keeps on going after the guy. He finally catches the guy and the cop files a report on the accident. I didn't think the damage was that bad, but 240keyy, Bbandit, and other people saw it and said it is pretty much totaled. So know I am going to look for another 240 to replace the one I have right now. Damn I hate people who failure to stop when it is their fault.
Bbandit and 240keyy already gave me some advice about what I should do about the incident, do yall know what else I can do about the problem?
sorry to hear about your accident, dont have any real good advice, but good luck! and hope you find a good 240 next.

Have you had any chance to get a quote on the damage yet? I'd take it where you could get a high damage estimate and try to stick it to them.
When I was 16 I was involved in a hit and run like that. Luckly the other guy couldn't get very far with his damage. A few witnesses saw where he went and I caught up with him and called the cops. When all was said and done, I got a high estimate, then got a good deal on the repairs, and pocketed the rest. Hopefully you can do the same.
Good luck,
Matt

....rear quarters cost out the ying-yang to repair properly. The estimate on my car was (just for the rear) over 3K.
Here is the damage....

is there any other damage besides the rear panels? Like Suspension?
If thats the only problem I would keep it as project car thats not going to be on the streets. You might be able to bang it out a lil, hopefully the gasoline door will open and such. If you could get most of the damage to pop out hide it with something like that wide body for the rear panels, thats if you decide to keep it as a project car. Because for $3000 you can get another RPS13. But if its alot worse, I guess your going to have to go car searching.
Also have you tried any other repair shops?
Stick it with your insurance company or that guy who hit you if the cops can track him down. then comeback later and whoop his ass. Give him a elbow drop for me too! Something like that happen to me when I had just bought the car and was driving home, some hispanic guy in an Chevy (?) Avalanche "claims" he didn't see me in the turning lane and tried to merged and his umm "side plates" that you step on/below the door, scraped my passenger door and put a big dent in my front fender. And the thing was he didn't have insurance or a liscence. Stupid, since the avalanche look brand new, and he doesn't have a liscence or insurance, and said it was his bosses car. Well luckily my dad was driving his car and stopped, looked like the truck driver was bout to shit in his pants, so he gave me $400 on the spot. Funny how he's driving a practially new car, has that much money on him, and still no liscence or insurance.

I am actually going to get an estimate tomorrow at what everyone has told me "the most over price place in town". I am going to borrow Bbandits digicam to take pics of the damage, but by looking at your damage Bill mine actually looks worse :( . I will keep yall updated.

If your carpet is removed from the trunk area, see if you can take pics of the inside part of the panels that was damage. Are you only going to let that shop estimate it for you or is that the one the insurance company rep chose? Hope everthing works out in your favor tho. If not find the driver of that truck and :axe: him
If not........*cough* S14 * cough*

112MPH down Rt.73 in Marlton chasing a n Integra who hit my co-workers car. I dont think I have EVER handled my car so well. Wasnt really until that night I realized how stable AGX's and HR Sports springs handle high speeds.
But I finally passed him at 100MPH, pulled in front and eased on the brakes. He kept trying to pass and I wouldnt let it happen. Around 85MPH a cop clocked us and joined us. We pulled over. He started writing me a ticket for "Racing" when Dad pulled up in a undercover Crown Vic, with the grille lights all flashing and explained the situation. I was on my cell doing a play by play with me Dad the whole time. He's on duty and yapping the whole chase about how Im going to kill myself and blah blah blah. Im like "Dad just tell me how to properly preform a Pit Maneuver." About 5 minutes after Dad pops in my co-worker arrives and goes after the asshole in the Integra screaming and hollering. This cop still wrote me a ticket, which i promptly put under his wiper as I left with Dad. Next day my god-father, Chief Stolesteimer, calls me and tell me he's going to kick my ass for doing what I did, but told me I should consider joining auto-x races.
All good in the hood.
As far as your damage, very sorry. At least you had a friend willing to put it down to CYA. I am assuming someone's insurance will cover it all.
edit: Someone here, namely me, is in a cop family. Brother is in the Coast Guard, Vol Fire Fighter and Special Officer. Sister is going to training next year to be a police officer and Dad's in 28 years now. Maybe I shouldnt be a web developer....? I dunno...

Well I should have picks of the smashed rear quarter panel. But I got an estimate today at the most expensive place in town and they quoted me 1600 bucks to repair it. Which means from that quote more than likely I will keep the car. I am going to also take it to other places to get the car estimated later next week. Still have to wait on the f!cker's car insurance information, because the officer is still investigating the accident.
