hey you people always mention numbers on tires like 245/15/40. what do they mean? im guessin somethin about air pressure? thanks for the answers

Or to answer the question as answered:
Try tire size 225/45-17
225 = Section width, the tire is 225 millimeters wide, divide this by 2.54 (to change from metric to standard) and THAT by 10 (millimeters to centimeters) if you must have this number in inches...
45 = Aspect ratio, otherwise known as "profile" the sidewall section is 45% of that 225 millimeters
17 = Wheel size, the easiest part about tire sizing

yes i highly reccomend reading up on the tire rack link above. it'll tell you pretty much all the basics to understand, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
