So I've been out of the game for a while. Last time I did research on short shifters I ended up getting the "good" B&M "replica" short shifter off ebay. It was solid, nice throw, but rattled to hell above 5k rpm.
Are there any nice short shifters(or even cheap short shifters) out there today that DONT SUCK and DONT RATTLE? I'll pay the big bucks if REQUIRED but dont mind using no-name stuff as long as it works the same.
I did do multiple searches and found nothing.
Thanks!!!!

If you got a lightened flywheel there is almost nothing you can do.... What does help is heavier shift knob, I have a Blaze from Japan that is 400grams. Also maybe put some teflon tape on the threads of the shift knob.
Try a C's Shifter if you can find one, but its not very short compared to a B and M which I have.

"You get, what you pay for".....I don't think anything beats the B&M short throw shifter. Love it!

I had one of the newer B&M shifters, and I didn't notice much rattle.

B+M is the only shifter to use IMO.

The car I had was using an ebay B&M Style short shifter and it was a PITA going into and out of 1st and 2nd. I got a real B&M and it pretty much fixed the problem. I am pretty sure they all rattle at high rpm. And I mean high as in racing/drifting high where you are nearing redline the entire time. With normal driving, you wont hear a thing.

Sonic motor has one they sale for $50
I have it and it's great. But the rattle is the little plastic peice in the leather shorter boot against the shifter. The reason it rattles is because the stock shifter is holding it in place. Not because the short shifter itself

damn so is the B+M sports shifter the cause of the shifter rattle at high rpms???
Do any of you guys think it could be my tranny not fully bolted?

Supposedly Circuit Sports will be releasing their version 3 short shifter, but they keep pushing back the release date. I'm planning on picking it up so we'll see how it goes.

I have a C's
i got used for $100 it's ok. Nothing beats the riflebolt precision of a B&M. I used to drive my s14 just to row throught the gears because it felt so good (That's what she said)

I use the circuit sports shifter and it does rattle about 5k but i rarely see above 3k so it doesn't bother me. Other then that i think its a good budget shifter, just replace the shifter bushing with a OEM one
