For the Kaaz LSD what is involved in breaking it in? The website just says to drive in a figure 8 but not how fast to drive or how big the figure 8 should be. Do I need a huge parking lot or can I just break it in driving around town?

you should be getting up to ~25mph.. 1st gear only.

also, make sure you're not applying gas during the turns.. only the straights.

any decent sized mall parking lot should be fine.

also, don't forget to depress the clutch through the duration of the turn, you should be rolling at full lock steering in the figure 8. do this for about 30 minutes and change out your LSD fluids asap.

good luck!

Alright cool - I bet the cops in my town bug me when I'm trying to do this. They got nothing better to do seriously!

well, find an empty parking lot. if there's a business park near you, go on the weekends. it's perfectly legal, but bring a copy of the break-in instructions, and you should be fine. don't get too excited and do donuts or anything!

say you don't wanna break in the lsd the "crazy 8" way.
is there another way to break in the kaaz lsd units?

doesn't Red Line make break-in LSD fluids?

no, there are only two kinds of fluids for your LSD, the LSD fluid (aka gear oil), and an LSD additive (which quiets the diff). there is no, to my knowledge, any sort of break-in fluids that are especially made for break in. most people, when breaking in a fresh LSD, buy the cheapest diff fluid avalible, since it would be swapped out immediately.

Hi Roman,
Driftingpanda's response is all correct. Just do it at a comfortable
speed (about 10mph). If you get dizzy, you can rest and then
continue. Don't eat anything prior to this either.
Note: Never use sythetic type oil on our clutch type lsd unit. It
will normally cause severe chattering noise. Just use regular
petroleum based oil GL5 Spec. 80w90.

kaazlsd. hey, is this ray? if so, hello! i'm pretty sure you don't remember me, but i purchased a 2way lsd for an s13 quite a while back. i had a black s13, and you gave me some stickers and a couple of hats to me and a friend of mine. i am sorry to say, that due to financial difficulties, i had to sell that unit. i had opted for a cheaper, used nismo unit instead (for the time being), but will be in the market for a new LSD soon enough. not brown-nosing or anything, but i just thought i'd say hello, and also extend my thanks for the service you provided me. also thanks for confirming my information!
