I bought my 92 se coupe for $300 and the odometer says 211,000 but the motor runs perfectly, the clutch is completely fried though. I was wondering if there is anyway to tell if it is the original motor in it or not? I am taking the motor out this weekend to swap in a 98 KA motor and i want to sell the motor that i am taking out but i dont want to sell it without knowing for sure how many miles it has so i will be able to put a price on it. any help would be apreciated

I'd think the VIN number would be on the engine somewhere....maybe?? It could have been rebuilt also.

Well-maintained KAs do exhibit good longevity where I'm from... Mine had 168k miles on it when I got my new clutch in april, but the ODO quit working then, but I drove the car LONG distances all the time until I wrecked it in june... My driving habits caused me to change my oil RELIGIOUSLY every 4 weeks and little shit stayed done and it ran like a champ until I killed the rest of the car. It's possible that your 200k engine runs well because it was well maintained, but I am in agreement that the VIN should be somewhere on the engine...
