ok so my problem sounds like a problem that a few people have had except for i think it is more complicated. my IGN switch fuse blows instantly when i turn the key. also the ECU relay vibrates visibly and audibly. i have tested the continuity of the IGN wire from the battery to the firewall and it is fine. every once and a while the fuse wont blow and the relay wont buzz, both times that has happened i have tried to start the car. when i turn the key i hear the starter click and then the fuse blows.

it seems like 90% of the people that have had the IGN fuse blowing have found it to be a ground issue. same with the ECU relay vibrating. i havent heard of an incident where both things happen. i have tested my grounds and everything in the engine bay is grounded well. i even hit all my grounds with a wire brush and replaced my negative battery terminal.

possibilities i have entertained:

could this be a problem with my IGN switch?

could the wiring from the swap have gotten messed up somewhere along the line? i did not do the swap and do no know how the wiring is suppose to be. i noticed that the power for the IGN is patched off the wire for the alternator, in fact all the power for the fuses in the engine bay are split off the alternator wires. it looks weird but has worked for 5 years.

there could be a demon inside my wiring harness. perhaps sacrificing virgins or small animals on the hood would do the trick.

also there are 2 light green wires under my fusebox that dont lead to anything, it almost looks like they were pulled out of some plug or something. one is light green, the other is light green with a red stripe. that brown wire in the picture goes to one of the headlight harnesses i think. last thing, some of the fuses only have on wire going into them on the bottom, mainly just the 2 25amp ones in the middle.

insight would be greatly appreciated. my car hasn't been out of commission this long in the 6 years i have owned it.

Check under your dash for anything hacked into your ignition wiring.. accessories like alarm and radio might be the issue. Also check under your fenders for any open wires

everything under the fender is good. ill look under the dash again but it looks pretty much untouched under there. does the problem have to be on the IGN wire or one of the wires from the ECU relay, or can it be something random that is somehow attached to the circuit?

bump. does anyone know if a broken ignition could cause this problem? or anything to narrow down my search?

^^haha. It could be your ignition but it sounds more like a short somewhere that is frying your fuses. My advice is keep checking for melted or cut wires..
