so right now i'm looking at a 1997 s14 with stock ka24de engine with 120k miles. A/C works.

Mods: 300zx diff and front brakes, cold air intake, JDM Apexi cat back, B&M shifter 17x8’s all around. Tien lowering springs. 5 speed swap.

and new paint recently (which I looooove)

the guy is asking $8k though. That seems a little high. It's a clean car and all, but wouldn't $6k-$7k seem a little more reasonable? tell me what you think...

1. You should be happy its even has SOME tasteful mods to it. Ive seen stock ones go for about that much.

Did you offer him 6-7k? If so what'd he say? It's his decision whether or not he accepts an offer YOU give him. If you don't like his asking price find another, nothing we say will change the scenario. If you go on and say "Well guys on Zilvia.net say it's not worth 8k so you're going to have to change your price." He will probably laugh at you and tell you to go fuck yourself, but seriously make a reasonable offer, show him kbb, tell him what you think it's worth, and if you can't come to an agreement go look somewhere else.

sound reasonable to me, I wouldn't take less
definite worth the price if it's 5 speed as those are very rare
and it's harder and harder to find the right parts for the conversion

edit - if someone quoted me kbb, I'd tell him to go fuck himself aswell.

Remove those side skirts ASAP if you do buy it or......tell him to take them off and offer 6k? :D

i kinda like the side skirts tbh :x but i haven't seen the car in person yet. And it's out of my price range so now I'm going to have to bring my dad in it, which is why i haven't thrown any offers at him yet. But yeah, i like the idea of going to look at it, and if I like it, showing him $6500 cash.

Honestly, supply and demand, and how badly do you want it? If the guy is local to you, whats the chance you'd find another S14 Kouki that clean, specially if its manual.

But personally, as much as I'd like to have a cleaner chassis, I couldnt bare myself to pay that much for a fairly stock S14. But then again, my situation is different. I bought a 95 Zenki with over 180k on it for $2k. I'm pretty much swapping out almost everything off my old S14 from Japan. Suspension, diff, seats, wheels, engine, so all I cared about is that the body is straight and it's drivable until I can get my RB put in.

PS: Curious tho, is that the stock color for the car or was it changed? Also, do you know what color that is? Is it one of the OEM colors for the S14 Kouki (Starfire Blue)?

im with this guy lol. i bought my s14 for 1.8k and it had a newer ka in it with about 65k on it lol. body was perfect and no rust whatsoever, paint was a little bad but mechanically perfect. certainly changes your perspective on what is worth what haha

this car has decent upgrades in it...6.5-6.8k i think seems reasonable, maybe 7k but no more than that. fresh a/c is good, although not that much of a sales pitch with the upcoming season and your location haha. if it was an original 5 speed it'd probably be worth closer to 8k. that car is superdeeduper clean

Like I said its all about the location...Northeast is not really known to have alot of S14s to begin with. Whatever S14s were available were basically other people's overpriced headaches that they just want to dump on somebody else. Most folks want $4k-5k for their hoopty S14s out here with paint and rust issues.
