Be a man and just rock the steering wheel loose. Be sure to leave the nut on at the tip so the steering wheel doesn't come flying at your face.

This can strip the threads. just do it right with the free rent 20 dolla autozone puller and you wont have to worry about anything striped =]

I understand about your concern, I've done this on all my s13s I've ever owned which is about six total and went through a couple steering wheel changes on each vehicle. Never had stripped threads, I can screw the nut off and on when loose with one finger. It would take a hammer to strip the threads.

Don't be a pansy. Just keep hitting the wheel at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions and it'll loosen itself. Then you just pull it off. No need to go anywhere or rent anything or pay any money. I've done it more times than I can count and it's never messed anything up, ever.

On a 240sx it is real easy to pull the wheel off just leave the nut screwed in a bit so you dont smack urself when the wheel pops loose. I had to remove wheels from some cars that were fucking impossible to remove without tools, also if you have a aftermarket hub you need the tool to pop it out since u have no where room to pull from.

Probably the most convenient option for the OP if he doesn't want to risk stripping the threads.
