on the engine harness, has a metal backing on it, does this need to be grounded? and what is it?

yeah thats your ignitor chip just mount it in your engine bay out of the way of everything lol

the back metal part doesnt need to be grounded to anything?

no it doesnt, its kinda like a heat sink. Keep it away from High heat
