View Full Version : My complete body restoration + bumper modification
Please bear with me, I have many pictures to attach to this thread. :)
First of all, my car is getting a complete paint job and rust fix. It's costing me a bundle, but in the end, it will be worth it.
For now, I'll just add the bumper vent pictures. Please note to take out the grill. ;)
Another shot of the bumper
Rust where shock connects to frame (turbo side)
My complete car getting a facelift. ;)
Please note, I had all the hidden rust a 240sx produces: on the welds inside the doors, a pillars on side of windshield, top of front strut towers...
A shitty job to get done. However I'm getting everything done and I can't wait to get the final product.

Looks good, are you going to keep it white?
Hope it turns out good too! :)
I'm going to get it painted its original pearl white (same as s14) again.
I juste need to source one garage defend GT cooling panel to use the full potential of this bumper vent.

The spot where you took off the nissan emblem and sanded down looks like a ford blue oval, haha! Weird coinsidence. Otherwise, looks good. Did you use fiberglass to fill/smooth the new port you made?

First of all, I didn't do it myself. I wanted to do it, but I left the job to the crafty hands of my bodyshop friend. I drew it on photoshop an it was exactly reproduced the way I wanted it.
They used flexible fiberglass (leftovers from a 360 Modena that passed by this summer) to smooth down the vent.

I'd like to see a picture or two of the inside of that vent. Are you leaving it open in the back or will there be some sort of plumbing to manipulate the airflow? It's an interesting idea either way.
Good luck,
Matt

Vent should definately help with cooling, and airflow through the radiator.
I've seen the Garage Defend CF panel on RareTrick. I'm sure it'lkl take a while to get here though.. I hear you can get them from takakira too.
Looks awesome! can't wait to see it completed.
Are you going to get side skirts, or lips?
No plumbing needed. The Garage Defend GT Cooling panel will keep the air flowing through the rad instead of over it.
sykikchimp:
I already have a set of Optional CDN hicas skirts and rear apron. It's exactly like PDM's kit, except that it's in urethane. :)
I need to shop the handy work of my guy at the bodyshop.
I came to him with a picture that I photoshopped. (top) And see his result!!!!
Sorry for the french labels, I posted it up on a french forum first. ;)

its gonna look awesome when it's all done.
in my opinion, your car is definitely the best looking one on zilvia. i just love the look of a white car with the kouki lights and spoiler, and your headlights dont hurt the style either.
anyways, keep up the good work and post some more pictures when it's all done.

Yes, it's the same guys that did my swap a year ago... It's the same guys that gave me a blown SR to work with... It's the same guys that own one 11sec s13 hatch, one 12sec kouki s14 and one 12 sec zenki s14.5. These guys are great. :)
nocomedown:
thanks a lot, I really appreciate your compliments. I try my best to have a nice clean not-too-in-your-face 240sx. ;)
CreAziaN:
My primary language is french. My GF speaks less english than me and she's the one that took the pictures. :)

whoa! its a real JDM white top? Mad props bro! :D
Car is gonna be really nice after the complete resto. Its such a good feeling to look in all the cracks and dark corners and they are just as shiny as the body panels.
