I guess I'll go ahead and introduce myself now. My name is Jon, I live in memphis, tn, I'm 21. Been into cars for along time, never really nissan though, but thats why I'm here. I drive a 95 integra, but am planning on the 240sx and sr20det swap sometime this year. You can learn more about me and my crew at http://www.midsouthsr.org. I don't really know much about nissans, but if anybody needs any help with honda or acura questions I got you covered.Other than that i am a huge post whore, and I hope all of you can put up with my bullshit.
peace
jon

Woah. A Honda guy. Welcome, welcome.
I started hangin' around these parts when I owned a 240, but I've got a del Sol now and can't tear myself away from these peeps.
That said though, what do you know about the SOHC VTEC 1.6L engine I've got? I got this one instead of the DOHC for a couple of reasons. I want to say mostly because it was a lot cheaper, but the plain truth is that I couldn't really find a DOHC. All that aside though, any advice you could lend past an intake and exhaust for squeezing a few more horses out of this?
Thanks, and like everyone said, welcome to Zilvia.

Wow ya'll sure know how to make a guy welcome. Thanks. I don't have a 240 yet, I've been wanting one for the last couple of months, basically cause I'm sick of front wheel drive cars, and ready for some drifing action and some autocross.
JeffNJ--You can make a sohc fast but not as fast as a b16a, you can find b16a (delsol si and new civic si engine) for around a grand, and installing them is easy. But personally if I was you I would drop a b18c1 in there (gsr), and you will be fast as balls.
whateverjames- I'm wanting to get a 95 and up 240sx. I've got the money to spend on it, to do it right. When I get it the first thing is sr20det swap, and a front mount intercooler, after than I was thinking about the s15 front end conversion.

Jeff, the Civic EX/Si around 92-95 share the same D-series SOHC VTEC engine as the Del Sol Si. Internal parts from either car work the same, intakes, etc, etc. I think your engine's the D16Y or something like that. In other words.
92-95 Civic EX/Si = 93-97(is that the last year?) Del Sol Si

Okay, so how do I make it go faster? =)
The way I look at it, a DOHC VTEC would've set me back approx. four grand more. So, if over the course of ownership of that vehicle (prolly 2-3 years) I sink less than four grand into mods, I still come out ahead financially. =)
Because I just got it, it'll take a little bit before I get bored with it (mere months) and then I'll want to buy stuff. I know me. But, I figure now is as good a time as any to figure out what I want to buy.

Hey DJ Machine
Why Run when you can OUTRUN
There some fast Hondas' out there, H22 powered Civic's and being road legal, but they don't go round the corners every well.

Yeah, yeah, I'll outrun 'em all with Eleanor. (Provided the test track is dirt with lots of potholes.) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Welcome, newly reformed Honda guy.
