ZC, mine got bashed by a stupid person on the cell phone that rammed me hard and drove the 240 into another car. Insurance totalled it. I will keep it though. I saw this one and snagged it. I think I can make the 1300 miles in it if I do not get into snow and ice situations....but it is bought anyhow..looks good eh?

I have been pretty good. the Infiniti is a nice car but I got to be with the 240 situation if you know what I mean.

The tranny was rebuild on this one and I suppose it is a greasy wire to the tranny that is the culpret..

Any thoughts (i do not know shit about the automatic situation) would be appreciated.

Wrecked "Betsy"...with a sad face...

She is a lot worse off than she looks

Damn that sucks about your car. As far as automatics go, that is my best guess. Will you be parting out the old car?

ZC, parting it out remains to be seen. I hope to RB it and keep the auto for a DD with the G35. G35 is just too "nice" and a tad slow compared to my wrecked 240SX...but it has one hell of a nice heater and sound...it needs breaking in with 50K miles then it would be floggable...just a nice new car.

I want to drive an 89 240SX hatch that is grey. I just love the damn thing. I do the RB26 in the old one...then it can come alive again...gonna be a long time coming.

Why not swap the old engine+tranny into the new one you just got. Doesnt your wrecked one have a built engine and 5 speed?

good lord, $999 is a steal! It's damn near impossible to find 240s for that price these days! Good buy, and good luck with the project!

That is an option. It depends on how sound the KAE is and how long it will last. Betsies engine has 60K miles on it and is strong big time. As per the auto to manual trade out...it would be much easier since I will have both cars here and all the parts are interchangeable. Eventually, I will end up with 2 really good rust free 240's.

I got the quote from a trusted body shop on what it would take to make Betsy perfect:

2454.17 Full frontal repair and paint
2086.00 Full Rear repair and paint.

So.....Betsy will need almost 5 g's to make her prefect again. I cannot drive both of them at the same time but honestly, if the engine in the automatic grows weak and is smoking.....then an engine replacement would certainly be easy...and then..I got the RB26DETT Clip with RB25DET tranny ready to go as well. I think this car I bought may not have the performance option with the stiffer amenities so it is basically just a nice cruiser. believe me, the stuff on betsy is outragous when it comes to frame mods and stiffness. The car dont flex. Notice it sustained a 25 to 30 MPH rear end collision and I was dead stopped.

Best thing is to let things shake out and see what the future holds. Certainly, betsies engine cost over 6K alone. The RB clip was right at 10K (M.I.N.E. MODS)

I do not have a good garage to do the work so first order of biz is to build a nice 4 car garage. I saw a nice lift in harbor frieght and no garage is complete without a "pit"...so things will go as they will.

Funny how time hauls ass when you get older. You got to grab as much time as God grants you and make the best of it.
