so right now im still in the reading up and saving money for my project, what i have in mind is and s13 hatchback with a redtop/blacktop sr20det swap. ive done a good bit of reading on forums and government sites but i have a few concerns about emissions, since it will be a few years before the car is considered "antique" and therefore exempt in my county. (Cobb County, Georgia)
Im expecting to have to face the sniffer test and ive read that alot of people pass this, there are even a few tricks to get better numbers, but what sort of exhaust setup do you have?
Id like to do a full 3" from the turbo-back, so i suppose i need to find a high flow catalytic converter, but would it be better to get some parts together and have a local muffler shop whip up a custom exhaust setup or buy a catback setup and a bolt on catalytic converter? would something like a catco look stock enough to pass the average visual inspection? sorry but ive never dealt with an older car like this and I hate to think something as trivial as an emissions test will stand in my way of my project. If all else fails i guess i could register it in another county.
Don't give me too much crap i just need some much appreciated input from some more knowledgeable people than myself. Thanks for the help, guys.
