Bad Seller - What should I do?

I just got scammed i think. heres the situation:

I sold my s15 steering wheel to this guy for $150 and a nardi steering wheel. I sent him my steering wheel after he sent me the money. The deal was, after he received the wheel, he was to send me the nardi wheel. i got a delivery confirmation and it says he received the wheel last friday. The shaaady thing is, his email all of a sudden doesn't work. ive also sent him numerous reminders through paypal to respond. no response. (Up until this point, he has been very quick in responding).

my question is... how long should i wait till i report this to internet fraud complaint center? Am just overreacting?

nah, its a guy in sandiego. i have his name and full address. no phone number tho.

anyway, i filed a complaint with internet fraud complaint center. ive waited a week and im an impatient guy after being ripped off a couple times already. we'll see what happens...i'll let you guys know if it actually works and doesn't take a few years.

Aw man, sorry this had to happen to you. That was a nice steering wheel you had.....good luck with that guy. Its those kind of people that make me reluctant to sell online.

BTW, was the buyer a zilvia.net user? Or FA, SpeedHawaii, etc? May help if somebody recognizes the name.

lol you sure his name isn't Keinosuke Inoue? He's screwed a lot of people over. . . he seems like he's probably a nice guy normally, but he wouldn't work with me at all. . or reply to my emails. .so I filed a complaint with the FBI's internet fraud center. . they basically pass it on to local law enforcement.

May or may not work. .but a friend got back 80 bucks from a dood in Japan by using it, and I'm trying to get back the full 200 some bucks.

good to hear that that internet fraud complaint actually works. do you have any idea how long it took though? this bastard definitely ripped me off. no sign of him whatsoever. cheap bastard... i thought i would be able to tell who i can and can't trust. this guy seemed hella nice but i guess not. from now on, im getting at least a phone number before i do any more transactions.

I'm not sure how long it takes. .took my friend about a WEEK. . however. . that was a U.S. serviceman in Japan. . the MPs got on his ass, and he handed the money over. . won't be that quick. .

I got tired of nagging him all the time. . he's obviously intentionally trying to dick me over. I'm sure he's an alright guy, but what else am I gonna do? Take this on the chin? I've been too nice in my life, and I'm pretty f*ucking tired of all this.

ya, i think i got screwed on a deal on ebay. i payed pay pal and nothing, it was a do-luck front bumper about 2wks ago...

Paypal gives you 30 days to file a complaint. They then make the seller prove that they sent the item. The seller will have to send in an original invoice/tracking number/etc., and if the seller doesnt withing 7-15 days, paypal will get your money back if the guy has any in there.

Hope that site works. . I filed my complaint at the beginning of the month. . a friend got his 80 bucks back. . but it's important to understand, the FBI isn't the agency hassling the individual. . it's the local authorities it gets handed to. . my friend was successful because the guy that screwed him was a U.S. serviceman living in Japan. . MPs aren't cool people to piss off. :D


The guy I'm going after lives in Riverside, Cali. . so we'll see what happens. . maybe, maybe not. . I still don't hate the guy, just disappointed with him. . it's unfortunate that I had to go the route I did.

UPDATE:

Something came in this week from the guy. I dont' know if its the steering wheel yet cause its at my parents house. but if it is, i dont know if he was contacted by the local authorities, or if he just got scared about me contacting the ifcc, or he just sent it really really late without ever contacting me. either way, it something came in. hopefully theres a note inside explaining his situation.

Yeah I contacted them too, but I don't expect he has the thing still. . I assume he found a local buyer for it. . but it's too late anyway. . oh well.

did you pay with a credit card through paypal? or did you use bank transfer or paypal balance to pay? if you used your CC then call the CC company and dispute it. paypal has never helped me on getting my money back but the CC company has always been there for me the few times i've gotten ripped.;)

good news, i got my front bumper! The guy had to leave the country for an emergency...so he just got back and i got it last week.....

NOW I HAVE MY DU-LUCK BUMPER:D
