I’m looking for a 98 with mileage in the 50-75K range. Never modified…as I’d want to start with a blank slate.
I’ve been checking eBay, Auto Trader, Local Newspaper, the For Sale Forum on a regular basis
Is there any other places I should check for one?

Be Prepared to spend 10 to 14 grand.
Very few 98's made it to the USA firstly, secondly, those who own 98's love the car and drive them alot.
I am not saying you cannot find one...but a 97 would be a more practical value IMHO.

they only imported 800 or so more 97's i thought the numbers where something like 3xxx 97 and 2xxx 98

Why a 98 in particular? why not a 97 with the same amount of miles on it?
try other forums: FA, NICO, etc..

I’m leaning towards the 98 because it’s the last year of production.
I was researching the importing Silvia route and it seems almost impossible to legally drive it, so wanting the next, most rare vehicle there is
NICO, FA stands for? I appreciate the assistance

Personally, I don't see the point in getting it because its the last year of production, just cuts your choices by more than half. But hey, thats your thing.

im with bliss on this... 98s and 97s are rare as it is... there is practically no difference between the two. so explain to me why you wouldnt consider a '97 with say... 50k on it? www.cars.com will bring up a few for sale around the nation i'm sure.

Basically just want it the way I want it…don’t want to have to settle for something I may not like as much later on
Thanks for the help and I know there’s a lot more learning to do before the final decision

a 98, last year of production sold in the U.S., and with 50-75k miles...........
Ok, first off like the other guys said, no difference between a 1997 and 1998.
What do you plan on doing with the car when you get it? If you plan on swapping out the engine its no point of paying extra for a low milage engine if your not going to tune it or keep it. If your going to turbo the KA24DE, then all you would need is a rebuild no matter what. The stock internals can only handle so much boost. The Nissan KA24 is a pretty strong and durable motor, I bought my car in cash with my dad cosigning since I have hardly any credit, and it had 115K miles on it, but I'm still spanking Tegs, civics, V6 mustangs daily lol. And it was for $8300, but since it was in cash, used car dealers bend over backwards while trying to serve you drinks if your paying it in cash, instead of financing.
Your going to be paying $11,000+ if your still hoping to find a 98 with low mileage. You have other options, like a 95-96, and swap out the head and taillights if you like, that would save you some money in the long run. I can get Kouki headlights themselves for around $400 something for a pair. (no harness tho)
Don't limit yourself on the options that are available, even if you have your mind set on getting that specific car. And to think, if I never test drove the 240sx I have now, I would have gotten a 97 Integra GSR or a 94 3000GT. All three were under $9000 at that dealership.

Why not first year of production? 89 baby
Blank Slate?
Can't get anymore blank slate than having to replace everything from the start!

well its up 2 u. ur money after all. im a little confused why you would like a 98 more then a 97... but oh well. same front end and everything if thats what you're concerned about. i think anubis put it best... with s14s u take what u can get. u also usually can't get as good prices on them b/c if you won't overpay someone else definitely will. they are THAT rare. however if you dont mind buying over long distances i would say your chances rise dramatically. just to note, i see 1 or 2 95-96s listed every 1 months or so. a 97 might pop up every 2 or 3 months. i have seen only one 98 in my 'local' (100 mile radius) in the past year. i live in nyc/nj area... which has a pretty high concentration of ppl and cars. i'm not trying to discourage you; just want to let you know that you have a long and hard road ahead of you. good luck with ur search.
