Hey guys, I'm having a pretty serious problem with my SR blowing oil out of the T-fitting on the valve cover.

I upgraded to a gt2871 and with the extra boost I'm running, oil blows out like crazy. I was basically filling my catch can after a week or two of off and on hard driving. How I had it routed was that the right of the T went directly to the block while the left of the T went to a catch can which went to the intake piping. I wanted to keep it stock but the tubular manifold I put on blocks the stock catch can mounting.

After getting all that blow-by I decide to try it routed like stock but with longer hose since, like I said, the stock mounting position is blocked and after a few hard pulls and a little sliding, I took off the hose going to the intake and unfortunately there was oil in it then too.

Long story short, catch can on the left or right of the T, I still lose oil.

As a side note; I have the pcv valve disconnected since on my new intake manifold I didn't yet get the fitting for it. However, I don't think this should be a problem since the pcv does nothing under boost anyway and that's when I'm losing the oil.

How can I not lose so much oil? Thanks

The last time I had that much oil blowing out I had shattered three pieces from my #1 piston ring land. The car ran pretty good but the excessive blow-by would fill a catch can in a couple hard pulls. I would do a leak down test and verify that you don't internal engine damage. I had my catch routed like that and its the most appropriate way to do it. A healthy engine with a properly routed catch tank system (as you have) should only see oil when a problem is present. Sorry to tell ya.

Agreed excessive blowby on the street after a full pull means the piston's or the rings are gone.... Leak down test before you bother with anything else

Always problems with this thing haha.

Well, I'll try to leak down test soon and report back with the results.
