Splitfire DIS-004 Direct Ignition Upgraded Coil Packs S13 S14 SR20DET (http://www.frsport.com/Splitfire-DIS-004-Direct-Ignition-Upgraded-Coil-Packs-S13-S14-SR20DET_p_1375.html)

Splitfire Super Direct Ignition System improves spark performance on your SR20DET motor. This is a newly developed ignition tuning system designed exclusively for the Nissan SR20DET engine. Splitfire enhances the efficiency of combustion to bring more power and torque. This kit comes with replacement Splitfire coil packs, ignition amplifier, and complete plug and play intermediary ignition harness.

I'd say Yes. Kinda expensive IMO but probably a good upgrade that could net HP gains and good for high HP goals

i read a ton of mixxed reviews on em, some people still say they were mis-firing at over 4k... i just don't want that to happen, some people were saying they were crap, and some people were saying they gained 16whp, lol

If it started to misfire probably user install error or something doubt it's the product

Yeah they are legit, definitely a good upgrade over stock, just not a lot of dudes in the states running them compared to Japan. Many overlook the stock ignition on the SRs when doing builds. I will be running them on my setup and will try to get some "before and after" info up.

Not really needed considering the stock ignition setup (when they're not old/corroded/neglected), was designed off the Z32 and can handle 600hp before you start having issues.

had mine for 4 years never had an issue, made mine idle better when it was stock

Lol. Splitfires would be neat but like I said, overpriced in my opinion. Maybe if they were in the 260~300 price ranfe

God dammit Devhin, you don't need these.

mine rb25 neo came with them, they were like a present when i tore my long block down. would have never bought them separate. especially for a mild build. focus on other things first imo

what about swapping the coil packs off an s15 spec r motor? wouldn't that be a cheaper alternative yet still an upgrade over stock?

Why not just use LSx coilpacks instead?

Negative on that one ghostrider...S15 coilpacks are completely different compared to S13/14 setups. No ignitor chip, and skinnier. IIRC, you cant run them without the S15 ECU too.

Just use the stock coil packs, spend the money elsewhere.

Are you actually having problems with your coils?

i read a ton of mixxed reviews on em, some people still say they were mis-firing at over 4k...

Unless he's running big power its probably plug gap rather than the coil pack. I'm making about 400whp @ 20psi on stock packs but running a 0.025" plug gap. The biggest issue I've seen with stock ones is their heat threshold. Ditch that coilpack cover if you want them to last. A coil pack seems to either work or not.

I either recommend buying an aftermarket / vented coilpack cover... (or buy one of mine lol)

Anyone have experience with Yellow Jacket coils? Seem to be priced better and claim the same results...

Yashio Factory Tenka Ignition Harness drops the OHM resistance and allows for a stonger more consistant spark in return.

Also look at Okada Coil Packs ($$$$) and Hyper Volt Systems... You can piece a system together if you know where to look... Splitfire will be cheeper though!!

I have a set that is sitting in my garage.... Also had misfire over 4k.... couldn't figure out why.... Probably going with Yashio's system.....

probably not your problem then. when ever I got a misfire on my SR it was from a faulty coilpack. I keep mine numbered now so I can swap out my spares when one goes down.
