Not half ass, the only stuff thats half ass is wastegate but i have great experience with this specific unit this is my second 2jz build. and intake manifold is coated and cleaned. also welded to lower runners no leaks tested it to 150psi thanks for the advice though trying give people a option thats on a budget.

Advice? You want advice...

Ok. SELL THAT N/A 5spd trans (W58) if you had a 420whp sr20 and you are doing a more hp 2JZ you WILL break that trans.

i have heard of people doing a Miata booster inplace of the S-1X booster for intake manifold clearance. Also the stock intake manifold woulda have been good for 700+ HP unless you want it for looks then more power to you.

jjsz32racing
09-22-2011, 07:56 PM
yeah i broke my last w58 at 470whp with m/t drag radials
but my buddy owns a tranny shap so all the thrust washers have been replaced with titanium.

you could use a manual non abs brake booster which is very slim

I just went to their site and it says the 2j is $2,299

jjsz32racing

Its non abs. I checked it doesnt have a diaphram as long as you dont puncture it. It will work the same. Yeah i was checkin into other options though for the looks. its kind of last minute to make it to the local drift event.

wiring map from 2jz - sr20 - ka24de lights harness? RB20 ecu, 350z Maf, SR20/RB25de engine bay harness. should run 9.7 voltz. stock cps. But the New R35 GTR Skyline runs this mapping board so the pressure will dump about 8psi unexspected if you have brake light for your guage cluster.. its a brakes heat sensor for the 2 step. it crosses the rev limiter and ignition spark to counter the brake dust-shield removal (no skylines have dust shield anymore)

JZ builds are radical.

Though I am a bit concerned with your choice of transmissions. I guess you may or may not prove many of the W58's haters right.

Somewhat related: Do you have to extend all of the ECU wires on the harness like you do with a 1J swap? I sent my harness out, and they extended 50 or so wires about 18" so that I could have my ECU in the right spot.

jjsz32racing
09-23-2011, 11:21 AM
i got the engine for 1460 shipped beacause it had no tranny and just like a car
lot they may ask one price but if u call and jew them down they will take less.

And for the wiring i got the car running today and im not using non of the sr wiring and it was easy. got everything working but speedo and tach waiting on dakota digital stuff. let me get my pinout up and i will show u. Oh and u only need to extend the wires about 12 inches and seeings how non are sensor related no need to solder. but both connectors will go through the stock location on firewall.

Then the girlfriend acting like she knows cars.
http://i965.photobucket.com/albums/ae132/NISSAN-John/IMG_20110917_192515.jpg

ok so onto wiring
http://i965.photobucket.com/albums/ae132/NISSAN-John/IMG_20110720_154752.jpg

http://i965.photobucket.com/albums/ae132/NISSAN-John/IMG_20110819_012955.jpg

and here is the pinout i used they are all bout the same.
http://i965.photobucket.com/albums/ae132/NISSAN-John/UKspecpinouts.jpg

step one u need a digital volt meter, some automotive grade 14 and 12 gauge wire with four 30 amp relays, more grounds than power wires and all your power sourcing can come from the fuse block under the hood oh and u need the e10 connector which i got at a junkyard out of a wrecked gs300 any will work that had a non turbo 2jz just cut it out. and leave a tail.

ok on the e10 connector
[pin 1] needs be switched so your ecu knows when to come on and isnt running all the time no need for relay u can tie into one of the nissan ones under the hood

[pin 6] is your check engine light i just hooked mine up behind the instrument cluster one wire to the bulb.

oh do not mess with the park switches i assume your not using the auto tranny i thought i had to have a neutral safety switch but just cut pin 76 on the e9 connector or you will be rev limited at 5k rpms

ok back to the e10 conn
[pin 24] is the efi relay that needs to run to your sensors i will get back to that

[pin 31, and 32] need to be tied together and run to a 30amp relay this is what powers the ecu oh and it needs to be switched if u dont wanna run pin 1 to the ignition switch.

[pin 33] needs to have constant power its your ecu memory no need for relay does not pull enough amperage

Onto [e9 connector] [pin 4] needs to be grounded to chassis

[pin 28] no need aristo is map based only

[pin 65] ground to chassis

[pin 69] ground to chassis

[pin 79,80] ground to chassis.

now on the starter extend both your old starter wires to the starter now u dont have to do nothing but turn the key.

http://wilbo666.pbworks.com/w/file/fetch/39358895/201104221920+JZS147+Engine-Body+Pinout.png
now the link above is to the chassis loom the big connector on your harness you need a few wires off this

[E 3] needs to be cut and connected to pin 24 on the e10 connector its your low voltage for all your sensors

[f 6] needs a switched 12v source with a relay. this is power to your ignitor and efi

[f 11] chassis ground

[f 12] is your tachometer output from your ignitor for when you get your dakota digital box

and the fuel pump i run to a switched relay i got lazy i will be hooking the fuel pump to the ecu this week.

but the car pulls hard ass hell with no idle issue
thanks for looking guys more updates to come any questions just ask.

would be do something about the upper radiator hose. It looks bent/kinked.
Move the fuel filter away from the downpipe, that looks like an accident waiting to happen. Or at least problem waiting to happen.

Why not clean it up after making it functional? I guess that would take away from the half ass theme you have going on here. Since you think that people who take their time and keep everything in their bay organized and clean only care about lucks, I'll tell you that one of the benefits of doing this is when you have a problem it will be easier to track down if everything is nice and neat and not all thrown together and shitty like your car. Please don't tell people that it i not necessary to use solder on something.

It doesn't cost 10 grand to clean things up. At most it will cost a couple of hundred if you want to do sleeving and AN lines. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about using some electrical tape and zip ties to clean up all of the random wires sitting in your bay, taking the time to clean the bay while there is no motor, stuff like that. You say you are going to go back and clean it up later, but you didn't clean it up with your SR.

Your exact words were: "u only need to extend the wires about 12 inches and seeings how non are sensor related no need to solder." There is nothing there talking about power wires. You said that because they aren't important sensors, they don't have to be soldered. That's called half assing something. I hope you aren't a mechanic, because I would be very uncomfortable with you touching my car after seeing your low quality of work.

Now tell me the difference. OH and quick food for thought since you think I'm a dum ass and your knowledge exceeds mine so far. dam man thanks for sharing the wiring with all of us doing the jz swap, you saved me $500 dollars ,how long did it take you to do the wiring

it took me bout 3 hours for the wiring and for the altenator just cut your old one and wire the new one in. i will have to look to get wire specific. The only thing i wanted to do was help people that didnt want to pay for somthin so simple thats why wiring is so secret theres nothing to it. any questions i will help the best i can.

o cool, i was going to post up my findings when i was done with mine, but you beat me to it. anyways, for the starter to work you forgot to mention the 12v trigger wire to the starter, which i believe from the aristo body plug was pin f1. i cant remember too well, but it was all black and right on top of the blk/orange wires that powered injectors and igniter. need to get this black wire and connect it to the trigger wire coming off of the 240sx chassis. on the s14 the blk/yel trigger wire from connector e201 near the fuse box would work.

also, not sure about s13, but on a 95 s14, there's a f3 plug near where the ecu plug is located. there's a blk/pink wire pin 27 that you can ground and it will allow for your stock fuel pump wiring to work. you can also get your switch 12v from pin 1 blk/red wire. this is only for 95 s14 though, because i've found a pinout for the f3 connector that didnt really matched up to my plug.

= HOFFMan I will make u a deal I will wire your car for free if I ever meet you no bullshit no sarcasm I just don't understand why your mad at me about not soldering wires. if they were crank position sensor or anything to that nature yeah but tell me this when u replace anything electrical on your car what's the first thing you do UNPLUG remove and replace key word unplug. that's the type of connectors I use plug type . Now tell me the difference. OH and quick food for thought since you think I'm a dum ass and your knowledge exceeds mine so far. Why are all the wires in a factory harnness twisted to some degree and not inline.

I have a brand new WS harness with everything down to the consult port working. I never said you were a dumb ass, you are just using low quality parts and throwing everything together without taking the time to make it somewhat clean.

JSimpson- Every engine ever made has it's own set of issues. Don't turn this into a SR vs 2JZ debate. That's just silly

No, I originally wired mine myself, including comparing the ka fsm and s14 sr fsm and making my own diagram because the 3 I had found on the net didn't work. Mine worked first try and I spent the many hours extra to sleeve it and make it nice. The reason I got a new harness is because the harness that came with my swap was 15+ years old and I was fixing breaks every other day. I'm not just critiquing his wiring, I'm talking about the overall quality.

on the aristo engine harness, there's a plug that goes into the ecu(big 80 pin plug named e9) and there's suppose to be another plug(40 pin plug named e10) that goes into the ecu. if you have an aristo harness, then the aristo harness will not come with an e10 plug, it comes with this weird looking shape plug that the op had a linked of. this is the plug goes into the aristo body harness which then has the e10 plug. but because its unlikely that you'll get an aristo body harness with the e10 plug, its easier to just get an e10 plug from any other 2jz harness and just pull out the wires you need from this weird aristo plug into the new e10 plug. as far as the name of this plug, im not sure what its called because im going off of a supra manual and they didn't have this plug, but i remember seeing another guy refer to it as the IK1. not sure on that so dont quote me.

if you're refering to the engine to body plug that is used from the s14 240sx then its called f3. located on your 240sx engine wiring harness near the ecu plug.

yes

& Do you Wire the 2JZ E10 plug into the 240 body harness? i only suggested this because the 240sx body plug(f3) has the 12v source that you will need, and if you want windshield wipers, and abs you're going to need to save this body plug anyways and since its location is right next to where the ecu is going to be, there'll be less wires for you to be extending.

If anyone wanted the wiring for the q45 mafs. You cant use your 2jzs main tps u have to use the tps on the traction control side. it turns clock wise and the other one counter clockwise. so the signal needs to be reversed so just wire it backwards like so. and you will need a gready tps adapter i made my own.

o yes, that's true. any other e10 plug should fit, but you will have to check to see if the pin wire is there, if not, then just depin a pin that is not used and put it where u need to. for my e10 that came off a sc300 wire for pin 33 wasn't there so i just depin a wire from somewhere else and plugged it into pin 33 slot.

I was wondering if this diagram could be applied to the S13 chassis ? Only thing is that my 2jz is N/A.
Please chime in on this, I'm going the same route this man is doing.

I'm not negative ALL the time...

That's just silly

dude, you need to get laid....bad.

I don't know how you derived that from a 6 month old post but good for you?

Was that supposed to be funny?

Hoff, shut up. If you cannot realize that this thread is HOW TO WIRE UP A 2JZ, AND IT'S PURELY EDUCATIONAL. You need to get off this forum, this thread does not need your comments about how his motor bay looks or any other bullshit comments. If it's not constructive to this man's thread leave and don't come back, quite simple! Not many people at all actually take the time and document how to do this. Again if you're not thankful for that leave this thread and do not come back.

The problem is the way he titled this thread. This is not the "real cost". It should be "The cost to half ass a motor swap". You guys refuse to see this because you are the stereotypical 240 owner and live your life half assing everything you do.

With that said, my shit talking was 6 motherfucking months ago!. Jesus christ, I understand just now finding this pathetic thread, but shut the fuck up. It has clearly died down, so why try to bring it back up?

What does the thread title have to do with YOU? NOTHING AT ALL. Once again, nothing constructive has come from your little fingers typing.

So...did this ever catch fire or what?
Pardon me? It seems as you put your two cents back in and brought it up from the dead. The last post was made on 12-7-11; you posted that comment on 5-2-12! Since you know oh so much about the 2jz swaps in the s chasis, GTFO!

Ok, and? What constructive posts have you made? I'm glad you can look at dates. Try looking at the post before that one and you'll see that I did not bring this dead thread back. Once more, this is a public forum. If you can't handle criticism, then you get the fuck out.

This guy is condoning using butt connectors on a wiring harness. Do you not see the problem with that? Any amateur wiring guru would laugh hysterically at this. What's more comical is that if Toby or Mike or any of the other almighty gods here on Zilvia(And do not mean that in an insulting way whatsoever) were saying the exact same thing, all of you people getting butt hurt would be swinging off their nuts.

any update on cost?

it's probably the biggest factor for me not going JZ. other than the work.

i only want 350whp, that's doable on an SR, but then again, it's a JZ motor....

Yes this is a public forum, so go shit talk someone elses
Thread. If you at least have shit for brains you know those butt connectors can be replaced with a sodered wire joint. He never once said butt connectors have to be used in order for the car to run. What's the big deal that he used butt connectors. If your reading this thread odds are you will be doing this on YOUR car, do it however you feel you want it. HE IS JUST SHOWING US WHAT WIRES GO WHERE IN ORDER FOR THE ENGINE TO RUN. If he just twisted up the wires and e taped the hell out of it, who cares? He's not working on your car. The difference is my fingers don't have dirreahia spewing shit up on the screen. I'm done having a pissing contest with this ignorant little boy. Jj any updates?

I really don't know how you guys misinterpreted it, but I called them "gods" because that's how everyone treats them here. Really? You guys couldn't understand that?

Durty- I get what you're saying about us not having to use butt connectors ourselves. That is a really good point. That fact still stands, however, that he is putting it out as "the real cost", when, once again, it is simply the cost to half ass shit.

Funny. Wiring n00bs think that all crimp connections are bad.

"OMG EVERYTHING MUST BE SOLDERED"

Bullshit. The 1 cent 100-pack of red/yellow/blue butt connectors with a pair of $2 Autozone crimpers isn't a way to make a solid mechanical connection, but a quality butt splice with a pro-grade crimper is just as good as a soldered joint.

Some OEM's factory-train their service tech to make mechanical repair connections. BTW, what kind of connections do you think the "wiring gods" are making at the ends of their harnesses for terminals?

I'm in the process of wiring as well. Bump away! I'm wondering if anybody has added wipers and fuel pump yet to this equation. Also, what wire leads back from the fuse box that comes from the stock nissan fuel pump relay under the hood to the harness under the dash, if any.

Hoffman, even 8 years after this post, you are still a clown to me... In 2020 standards, this isn’t very cash money of you to diss his build. I doubt you even got a 2jz 240 still to this day. Either way, you are a clown. Oh and sorry for necro post
