I think I have a situation.. I bought an AEM EMS from a guy.. He said it came with a car he bought and he wasnt going to use it becuse he was going to sell the car anyway. He said it was for an s13 sr20det.
I recieved it in the mail yesterday. Ripped the box open and was looking through the instructions and saw the pinouts for the ecu. I noticed some pinouts are not the same as my factory ecu pinouts. I have a factory wiring diagram for my car and compared the two diagrams. Sure enough, some pinouts are the same, some are different. For the most part they are the same, but from what I remember right off ignition #3 and 4 are in different spots along with a few others.
The AEM part nuber is 30-1602. The papers that were included in the box say its for a Euro s14.. But the box that the EMS came in says 94+ s13.

So what should I do?? Is it a good idea to swap the wires around to the right pinouts for the AEM? Or sell this one and buy the right one?

It's not a bad idea. But should you reinstall the old ECU or sell the car, be sure to remember or pass the info along. I've repinned several ECUs. Hell... Some people use Honda AEM EMSs on their 240s..

Ok thanks! So everything should be fine afterwards? No further complications even though the 1602 is for obd2 cars?

You'll be fine. Once everything is pinned to the correct location, you simply use the software to take care of the rest.
