So my 240 fell victim to a flood. I found a clean sc300.
FS RARE 1992 Lexus SC300 5 Speed 2JZ Engine STOCK Clr Title CLEAN! OBO (http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/2609158995.html)
Tell me if its worth it because the guy had it originally at 5.5k. He's being a doosh about lowering the price. Kbb lists it at 3.7k It has 192xxx miles too.

I would get a 240 but theres not that many worth buying where im at. :gaah:

He wants 5k. Thats the lowest he will go. Is it worth it?

Like others have said, the 5 spd is very rare and most definitely worth 5k if its in the condition he is stating its in.

lol at trying to leverage kbb on a 5 speed sc...hope you didnt throw that in the sellers face

as for the pricing, albeit high mileage, is about the going rate...i personally wouldnt pay the SCs "going rate"...still kicking myself for missing out on one at 3.6...

it has rare cloth interior too!

I think it is not fair that you complained about it is over the bbk value. you should also look at the market value for a manual 240sx, supra and integra...they are way higher than what bbk listed.

whats your reasoning for this? yes the R154 is stronger but if its just the stock n/a 2j i don't really see it worth the hassle. you would just be wasting a shit ton of time and money. and why even mess with a car so damn clean. the w58 should be fine if its just going to be your daily driver.

I would also recommend doing as much research as you can about the sc chassis before you get in over your head.

If you cant afford it, move on and find another one. or find a beatup one for cheaper.

You're in FL...its the damn S14 capital of the states. I bet you can find a clean S14 from an old lady who's had it from the days when she used to sell Mary Kays.

the price seems fine, considering how rare that car is, and the condition. i, however, wouldn't buy it because it's a toyota, and THE ugliest damn car i've ever seen. :keke: i don't like SCs. i also sold my kouki over a year ago, and i honestly don't miss anything about it. it's odd, i thought for sure i would.

You'll need the r154 and r154 to JZ bellhousing. I've ran into some R's for stupid cheap. I have two W58s just chillin in my garage.

The car us definitely worth what he's asking. Ask him if there's any electrical issues with it.

I had a 5spd SC. Sold that shit. Those cars need a bunch of work just to be brought back to decent condition, let alone start modding.

9/10 all the suspension bushings are shot. So either expect to change everything to spherical or to install aftermarket bushings.

Overall the car is a land yacht and even things like how the door opens so narrow gets annoying.

One car I never regret getting rid of, and I paid nothing near 5k for it.
