ok guys, my cars been down for a long ass time now and im hoping i finally narrowed it down.
was driving the car and it just broke down. wouldnt start. had it towed to my uncles shop. he took a quick look and said my Distributor was bad. i got a used on off here and replaced.
still nothing.
then i notice that im not hearing my fuel pump prime. i check it and the pump will run on its own. started looking around. had a blown fusible link. replaced.
still nothing.
i decided after checking continuity of my wires to pull my ecu and take a look.
well theres a fried trace for about an inch running to pin 38.
damn.
ive left a message with a friend who builds custom guitar amps to see if he could repair the trace but its taking forever. i was curious as to if anyone has any advice for this?
i just want to get it running so theres no issues as im about to swap shells soon. i dont want to deal with a downed donor as well as just the swap in general. i know pin 38 runs the BLK/WHT wire to the distributor, eng temp sensor, and the ECCS relay.
is this a ground signal from the ecu?
if thats the case can i just ground the blk/wht wire itself? or does the ecu have to signal the grounds when needed?
im going to try to take a pic and post it. im wondering if a small wire jumping the burnt trace would be alright for a temp fix. only problem is im not really qualified as this is very fine. ive soldered guitar equipment but thats nowhere near as precise.
