1991 Silvia K's Sr20 5 speed RHD
My friend and i started to pull the trans out after separating it from the engine.
It appears to be stuck against the tran tunnel. We have tried jacking up the engine and jacking up the trans from every angle possible. Its stuck. I am just trying to replace my clutch, can anyone help us?

Take the snap ring out of the shifter and pull the shifter. And make sure u have everything disconnected around the starter area.

Thank you. I already pulled the shifter and the starter has been disconnected. The starter area looks clear and there is nothing connected. It seems the trans is hitting the body but at the same time it appears that the body was made to fit the tran body though. should i drop the engine off the mounts to make room? its digging into the under- body.

turn the trans clockwise so the shifter hole is at the 3:00 position and it'll drop right out

Also could place a piece of wood on front of oil pan and use a jack to tilt motor back a little. May help after you turn tranny so starter bulge is away from the tunnel.

As stupid as it sounds make sure all the bolts are out, sometimes if you miss one you think the trans is just stuck and hitting where it could be just one tiny bolt. In my case even though it won't apply to you it was the crank sensor in that same spot.

Be cheaper to just find another tranny. Most shops will charge you around $1500 for a rebuild.

Get a KA trans and swap the bellhousings. KA trans is a little bit more beefy. If u got deep pockets OS Giken gear set with a super single clutch. Damn new bullet proof.

This is so true. Also you could just get the mazworx trans adapter plate and upgrade to the z32 trans...

He doesnt because they're the same damn transmission. The only difference between RB20/CA18/KA/SR transmission is the final gear gearing.

So i looked into the 300zx twinturbo trans and found one for $400 bux. That adapter kit is a $1000. alone which includes drive shaft. And than needs a new speedo. If i didnt just do pretty much the same exact thing to my wrangler id dish out the cash for that kit. I think i will use the same trans in the mean time. Thank you everyone for your help.
