Felt sorry that turnout was so low, but it was a well put together event. I wish I could have gotten closer to take some good pics of dd10, but they still came out alright.

turnout was actually quite good.
over 80 cars were entered into the festival, and we had just under 1000 spectators. Overall things went smoothly. It was a ncie day, the lunch provided wasn't too bad, there were some pretty decent prizes given away (full set of Falken tires, any size up to 19", $500 gift certificate to the parts dept of Superior Nissan).
Some of the display cars were insane.. that Armada was CRAZY, and I liked the fact that there were 2 silvia converted convertibles. hmm... 'converted convertibles'. That's my new band name!
Anyway, it was a nice event. Some idiot honda people (spectators) tried to ruin it by goofing off in the parking lot, but otherwise, all went well.
Got Sileighty?

i thought i saw 3-4 verts. 2 blue and 2 black? yea there was a nice turnout. the mckinney sports s14 with rb26 swap was insane, and so was the 1969 (?) skyline gtr!!!!
how were the falken tires given out? was that the raffle?

Turnout was low?
Officially over 1000 spectators, plus 200 or so participants.
I ask you to find a larger Nissan event in recent memory.

The mcKinney s13 appears to have an RB26 now... in SCC it had an RB25. Am i correct? That engine looks so awesome in there.
Anyone know what rear bumper is on the red s14 in the same picture?
Please post some more pics!!!

Maybe it was because I came late? Seems pretty slow when I was there around 2-3. And the lot was so huge, it just seemed so empty.
Either way it was a good event.

Its a Fujifilm 4800z that I picked up in Japan, i think its 3.2 megapixels, but it has that ccd chip thingy so it can take pretty big pics. It was set on 1M Normal, which I think takes the best pics without filling up the mem card too quickly.

Heh...actually no - the digital rebel that I shot with was not even mine! I shoot with a Sony F717 which does have the long Zeiss lens but only a 5x optical zoom.
As far as getting the brilliant colors - just wait until the warm light of sunset hits the car and do not shoot the side with shadow - you'll get nice results, especially with the fantastic color reproduction of a DSLR...also - watch your focal points so that the background can be a bit blurred and you don't have so much DOF...and you can seperate yourselves from the masses of point and shoot owners...

I was on the second guardrail too - it's just that the native images are so high resolution, I can zoom in and crop - that and the fact that I was using a decent lens definitely helps..

Yeah, all Ga has for now is Drag events, barely if any, and mostly car shows...........dammmm hondas...........
I guess if its anything drifting related, best place on south east, would be Florida. Errr dam 6 hour drive.....
anyway, nice pics. Hopefully next year my team and others could agree to renting out an area to drift at.

Well, guys, those are some great pics! For those of you that kept getting sent back by the staff *shaking finger* nughty naughty. You should have obeyed the rules and you wouldn't have heard"NO" hehehe but all in all, everyone behaved well! THANK YOU!
btw, yes the falken tires and gift certificate were raffle prizes for the entrants of the festival.

If you search the Freshalloy FS archives, you'll probably find them, though. That or benson's forum.
edit: Let me guess at the camera... D1X? or the D100? :)

No, his is the same camera... It's 5x optical/2x digital, which adds up to 10x overall (on the side of the massive Carl Zeiss lens)... Same as my f505v, but about 1000x better :D.

The guy on the track had an insane zoom lens that was probably bigger than my camera...
