Since I have a hatch I like hatchbacks, though the coupe and hatches have the same front. Tail wise I like the hatches better...What about you guys?

Coupe. (see below )

I can see the coupe being fast..with like 300rwhp... Seeing a S13 hatch that's fast just doesn't make sense to me.

BTW, all the S14's and S15's are coupes, so look who won out in the end

good point...

but if i get a dohc, which i might, before my bmw, i'd grab a hatch, black, navy or forest green.

The only things that i like about the hatch, is the JDM tail lights, and the fact that there's several more aftermarket wings available for the hatch.

I like the look of the hatchback. The coupe(especially after seeing all the s13 silvias over here) just doesn't look right with the pop up front end. The sloped front end goes better with the more aerodynamic rear of the hatch whereas the silvia fixed headlight front end goes better with the more angular boxy style of the 'coupe'.
Coupes are a bit lighter(cause they don't have that huge piece of glass in the back) but the hatch has a slightly lower drag coefficient.

well that's my two cents

I would have to say s13 coupe, they can look #### sexy if done right. Hatch it tight to, but i am gonna say coupe. #### I might buy a coupe in the future. And ####, drift freaq you been smokin the evil weed? cuz you actin kinda paranoid.

The fastback of course is sexiest. (I prefer fastback over hatchback b/c hatchback makes me think of a boxy econocar like a Civic hatch or Focus hatch.)
Like I've said before: Would you rather have a woman with a smooth tapering ass or one with a boxy square one? (no offense to the ladies)

Besides, like mike said, the USDM coupes just don't look right with the pop-ups. However, the JDM silvias look nice...especially with a good looking body kit.
But in the end, the fastback rules!!!

Hahahahaha... Hybrid said it best... Coupe's got no style!! Ain't it the truth!! A S13 Coupe couldn't catch my eye more than a Gold Camry, but I still notice the S13 Hatches rollin around here... even though they are all ghetto and ill-maintained!! I love em all!! (not the coupes tho!)

If you want a coupe get an S14 because they are awesome looking cars. S13 coupes just look like everything else to me. I'm sure they were cool 12 years ago. But when I started looking at 240s in 97 the hatch was what I wanted.

Hatch because of the Aerodynamic Psycological effect of downforce, and the bodykits look better, I've seen cool looking Coupe, as well, but nothing beats the Sileighty and it's body kit's.

I agree, I say 180SX Back with a S15 or S14 front. I like fastback just cuz I love the lights, and hate the coupe lights. Like ive said before, if u like coupes, get a s14, not an s13. S14 are the best coupe, S13s are the only fastback, for a resion...

Ah, I love the look of my Silvia S13 K's-
http://www.silviaaustralia.com/images/steel1.jpg
http://www.silviaaustralia.com/images/steel2.jpg
Its a classic 90's japanese coupe look, nice lines on the bonnet, tidy if abit small boot and a flat-no nonsense front. Its from the days when Nissan finally pulled their finger out, tightened quality control and gave us the SR20DET. Few mods here and there, bit of tuning and she's putting out 200+ horsepower.
It snarls and roars when you floor it scaring the fuck outa pedestrians and dopey housewives in 4wd's and beats the living shit out of anything else that costs that amount of money. You can chuck it through corners sideways, no weird handling quirks that will kill you unlike a lot of Toyotas or Korean crap on a similar wheelbase and Im yet to find a fault in the build quality. The interior still retains a slight timeless appeal that has aged exceptionally and the paintwork is of the highest quality.

And if your not sold on that?
Buy a Honda and join the other lemmings and try hards.

They -are- a classic car the S13 coupe.
On a side note, I am going to start a Sileighty drift-bitch project as soon as I can get another a loan

You're talking about the Daytona Charger...sometimes called the SuperBird I think. From what I've heard, that car's spoiler's height had little to do with additional downforce b/c the fastback design flowed air down to where a normal spoiler would have been. The reason they made it so high was so they could attach it to the body (as opposed to the trunk lid--for strenth?) and have the trunk lid be able to clear it when you opened it. Anybody wanna confirm that? My muscle car knowledge has gotten a bit rusty as well.

Whooo. thanks... it has been bugging me I couldn't remember the name. God... is was pissing me off. It was a death sled... but it was fast. I find that one looked like it though. But To answer the original question, I love the coupe. They are so rare and so nice, but they need a little work, they always make me think of Iketani's car in Initial D. Lol... so hooked on that stupid show.

yeah it was the Super Bird, or the Charger Daytona, same thing. And from what i have read the wing DID help with down force, 600 pounds to be exact. But the front "nose cone" helped a bunch to with 200 pounds up front. Those things were hella fast though. With the O' so sweet 425hp 426 Hemi. #### thats a sweet ass engine. I think the top speed on one of those #### things was like 180!!! thats just nuts for 1969. Nothing like good old American Muscle.

I know it helped downforce, but I've heard the extra height was not designed with extra downforce in mind. But I could very possibly be wrong...just something I heard.

It is soo all about the coupe. Sorry, I just totally prefer that look. And, to the poster making the women comparisons, dude the real "ass" of the car is the taillights, and the coupe's look a lot nicer.

But, that isn't what makes the coupe look nicer to me. Obviously, it's all an opinion thing, but that trunk lid is small, so it's totally not a sedan (blech - who said that?!), and the OEM spoiler is, as the kids say, dope.

Viewed from the side, the back of the hatch looks too much like the front. The coupe is sexy bumper to bumper. Ahh, I miss my car sometimes.

BadMoJo

Lance, I remember hearing something about the wing being that high to get it into "clean air" with no turbulance i guess. But, after reading some more stuff, it looks like the turbulance was caused by the slightly recesed rear window on early models, which they changed and made it flush with the body before they made them for the street. And the wing stayed so they could open the trunk. Seems simple enough.
