i just got my rebuild sr running and i dont have an intake bracket. the intake just sits on a freshly painted engine bay, i did it ;). so i have a rag sitting under it for now.
i saw some k/n ones for like 15 bucks on goggle buy wanted to see if i could get any other ideas. if not then ill have to buy a new intake pipe

I think you should get the new intake pipe that wont flex (also get good couplers that wont let it flop around). Because if you get a bracket your still going to mess up your new paint, by drilling into it so you can mount the bracket. If you would have drilled holes before I would of course say use the bracket (obviously:rolleyes:). but think man (im pretty ocd about this stuff) if you drill holes and moisture gets around them since it will be fresh metal on the inner part, it would eventually start to rust.

I got my intake from a swap meet and the guy said I was so cool that he would give me this bracket that I screw into my core support, works good so far.
