S13 with a SR20DET wont crank over :(

hi everybody My S13 was running fine except for the occasional hesitation to start on the first crank. Today however I parked the car for a few hours and I went to start it to go the gym and it wont even crank. My radio, gauges and lights all work fine with no dimming. The battery is brand new. only a few days old. I can hear the fuel pump come on but the starter wont click like when it is going bad or anything. So i doubt it is that. I already searched the threads but I still need a bit more specific direction. Im new to the 240 Family but I am good with tools so if I can get a few tips I'm sure I will be able to fix it if pointed in the right direction! Thanks! start with the basics...this sounds like a common basic problem.

with your ignition in the on position you can run straight power to the starter and see if it cranks over. if it does then you know the issue is electrical, fuses, relays, wiring blah blah blah.

If it doesnt than your starter is bad, get a new one.(or good used) or if you like chinese parts have it rebuilt.

It could be other things but i would start with the starter. also just because the lights are on in your car, doesnt mean your battery has enough strength to start the car. but thats probably not the case.

I will check the starter later today. Hopefully its nothing serious. I already tried jump starting the car so I know it isnt the battery. I replaced the battery last Friday anyway with new one.

Try push starting it and see if it cranks over. If it does it's most likely your starter.

good news guys the Sileighty is up and running! I found the problem this morning. It was a bad ground. I tightened the wire to the firewall after i found it dangling due to corrosion and she fired right up!!! thanks for the tips it is greatly appreciated. Im super stoked it wasnt my starter or something else.!!!

Vatche I did try to find the problem before I posted but I think I was just a little frustrated and it was dark out. The wire was tucked behind the engine so I only found it by chance. However next time I will be more thorough before my newbness gets me in trouble lol. Thanks for your help!
