hey all

my dad drives a 1997 Civic Si, (i think its an EX in the states)

and he installed this big open muffler on it with a cat back system . It has a 4.5 inch tip and was used and didnt include a silencer. Its louder than all hell, and although he has a chip, intake and lowering springs on it, he cant stand the droning sound it makes. You cant even drown it out with the radio. Ive seen mufflers like this one with silencers. Again the tip is 4.5 inches angle cut. Anyone know where you could get just the silencer from (ive had no luck on ebay) or how I might make one that looked decent? Anyone have one that would fit lying around and willing to sell?

I dont want him to have to pay to have it removed and get something else. thanks

whaaaa??? Your DAD drives a rice rocket? hahahha isn't he kinda old to be driving a car like that? If I was that old I'd rather be driving something luxurious. Anyways.. it sounds like a cheesy muffler to me. Why not get a more conservative-looking muffler and cut and weld? Do you have any import speed shops around your area???

yah hes 45, drives a 20 year olds car, and drives it like hes 45. I have one shop and they are rip off artists so I was hoping to just find someone who wanted to sell one on here or who could point me the right way?

Sometimes I have to drive it when the weather is bad and I cant stand the noise either

get a muffler shop to weld in a resonator before the muffler.

Make one yourself. My friend made one for his Mr.2 and it looks and sounded pretty nice.

You can bring it to some place that does welding and tell them to make you one. I think all silencers all pretty much the same, its just a way of restricting the air flow. I have a drawing of what it should look like :)
