I want to get a 2 way KAAZ lsd where can I get one for a good price. Do you guys know if the HKS Carbon-Titanium hiper exhaust is a cat back system or not. I have a ka24de and this exhaust id for the sr will it work fine? Your knowledge is much appreciated.
Thank you.

those LSD's are around $800. i don't know where to get a good price though. KA exhaust systems will work for SR engines.

Not only are Kaaz LSD 's $800 but you have to get output shafts for them to bolt them in our car because the pumplin Kaaz sells you is late model 180sx type x pumpkin which means it has 5 bolt output shafts. instead of 6 like ours now those are going to to cost $260 then you have to have a mechanic install your ring and pinion because they sell them to you without ring and pinion. thats like another 5 hours of bench labor to do the swap of ring and pinion and get your end lash right so yu don't blow your ring gear. So its more like $1200-$1300 for a setup Kaaz LSD.
runs into the night mumbling its a Kaaz conspiracy

Don't know if your set on the Kaaz, but JIC makes 1.5 and 2 way LSDs for 240's.

Not sure how much they are, but JIC makes some nice stuff for our cars. Just someting to look into.

I assume you have an s14, if so, you could try to find an SE in a junk yard, and take the factory LSD off of it. It would probably be cheaper to get, and cheaper to install. I don't have the stock one (or anyone at all <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> ), but I hear its pretty good.

but is there any benefit of having a completely mechanical LSD over a VLSD?

A torsen (KAAZ) lsd locks the shafts up before one tire brakes loose. A viscous lsd locks the shafts up after one tire starts to lose traction. As a result tlsd's get a bit faster hookup than vlsd's.

KAAZ uses clutch discs which can be setup to provide 40/60/80 lockup. They react faster than VLSD's.

I figured that was probably the case. I think that's probably what i'm going for. The only thing that really bothers me is breaking it in. I think i'd be quite sick after 20 minutes of figure 8's.
