I am rebuilding some calipers and have some LCA'S that I figured I would get coated.. Called a local shop and they said around 225.. That seem reasonable? Anyone on here do any good coating or had theirs done?

Had mine done a long time ago as a favor for free. He says you can get powder for relatively cheap (though the most expensive part) and he highly recommends getting the applicator setup from Harbor Freight since it's balls cheap and never did him wrong.

That is abit expensive for LCA.. we were doing Wheels in HI for $75 each, all depending on how many coats and color choice's. If i had my oven here with me i could hook you up.

That's a lot...in cincinnati there's a place that will do it for 70 for everything that fits into their oven, and its big enough for 2 wheels.
Like it was already said, you can do it yourself with harbor freight equipment...
Or just paint it all with high temp vht on the calipers and high durability rustoleum on the lcas...
Remember, repaint or powdercoat the calipers after they are taken apart not after they are assembled...duh I know

Keep shopping, sounds too expensive. Should be less than $100 if you don't have a crazy color in mind and if you disassemble the calipers yourself.

not knowing how to get an even spray and a harbor freight gun.
First time using, you can see where the hanger was contacting the piece. (Excuse the A&P textbook lol)

Once you remove the hanger just throw a shot of powder on it. Also to help coat it, you can preheat the item to about 100 degrees. This will help the powder to stick to you item.
Can also check out Summit Racing, they have a fairly cheap one that works well, and can also get the media from there. Thats what i started out using, and still use it on small items up to large wheels.
For large items you need abit more current for the powder to hold, but if preheated you could get away with the summit gun on just about anything.

If you're talking about 2 LCA's + 4 calipers than the price sounds great, if you're doing 2 LCA + 2 calipers than the price is fair. You can check how much I charge on my website. POWDER-COATED.COM (http://www.powder-coated.com)
To be honest, the cheap guns are just frustrating, and by the time you're done buying a gun + powder + oven your price will be more than what they quoted you.

Wow I didn't think anyone replied to this thread! Well as much as I would like to do it myself I just don't have the time and patience to do it. Not only that but I could "hear" my wife now, with me putting car parts in the oven... I got a wire brush cleaned all the rust off the calipers, cleaned the calipers well with acitone or however you spell it. But it seems as though the high temp paint doesnt want to stick. Like it wants to flake off in some places. I don't want to go through all this trouble of rebuilding the calipers putting on SS lines and bleeding the system. just for the paint to flake off and look like shit. the control arm were ruined (again) I'm to stubborn to burn the bushings out and insisted they be pressed out. Well o found out that it's impossible (they must be burned) the control arms were crushed by the press and the bushings were fine. Thinking a out getting the "nismo" LCA's off of FRsport. What you guys think?
I'll post pics today. Cuz threads with pics are way better!

aghhh shoot, that sucks.. welp time for an upgrade.
Did you do a few coats of primer before the red? Should help it not flake as much.
